This NEEWER camera slider dolly arrived in a cardboard box and is well packaged and padded with each individual component slotted into foam. In the box is the camera table dolly, a ball head attachment, a phone clamp attachment and a user manual. The dolly has a load capacity of 3kg and measures 100mm in length x 84mm in width and 20mm in height. The dolly and ball head are constructed from aluminium alloy with the phone clamp being made from plastic (it is a bit of a shame the phone clamp isn’t made from the same durable metal alloy but I suppose this could potentially scratch a phone). The setup is very lightweight (220g) so if you wanted to travel with the gear, it is easy to transport. The 1/4” mounting screw is compatible with most DSLR cameras and fits both my Nikon and Panasonic camera well. The setup comes with a ball head mount which has great flexibility with both 360° rotation and 90° tilt movement. It also has a rubber pad to protect your camera against scratches from the component. It is possible to connect both the phone clamp and your camera directly onto the ball head attachment for genuine flexibility with the dolly. The dolly itself features adjustable angles as it can be tilted between -45° and +45° to create different circular movement pathways as well as the linear movement when set at 0°. The phone clamp is quite versatile as it is rotatable in both landscape and portrait orientations and my iPhone fits into the holder securely. The phone clamp also has a cold shoe mount so you have the capacity to add on accessories such as a microphone or lights. The four wheels on the dolly are padded with soft rubber rings and move really smoothly without making any noises that can be picked up on the video recording. I would say that the dolly setup is best used with a smaller lens with a DSLR, as the dolly isn’t heavyweight enough to balance a cantilevering lens. I will be using it with both my iPhone and DSLR and so far, the results have been impressive and all components lock securely into position on the setup and don’t move once tightened. The setup is ideal for both indoor and outdoor video recording although I will be using it to record short product videos so will mostly be using it in a studio environment. It has excellent zoom and panning capabilities with smooth actions which is perfect for our needs and makes it much easier to create professional looking videos. The dolly is currently unavailable at the time of reviewing but when it does come back into stock this is definitely worth considering – I would recommend it.

I no longer have a DSLR so I can’t say how well it would work with it. I would be a little concerned it would topple with all but the smaller lenses. However with a phone or my Go-Pro clone it works well. I was surprised just how smoothly the wheels moved. Although there are graduated markings I got the turning circle setup by trial and error, but I have made a note for future times. The phone fitting has a cold flash shoe.It feels a solid, good quality piece of kit. The ball and socket is smooth and it locks securely with the knurled knob.I did find it awkward to fit the phone – ideally it needed three hands. The spring is strong and I got a nasty nip.

Good quality, sturdy enough and good price. This camera dolly is great if you want to create professional videos with a camera or phone. You can do straight or circular videos, and the wheels moves smooth. The ball head can hold different types of devices. The phone clamp can be adjusted for different sizes. Very easy to use. Thanks

Very easy to assemble the three components which arrived in a fitted box.Well engineered, weighty piece with smooth ball joint to position your camera at any angle. I found it holds my digital camera as well as fitting my phone easily. You adjust the angle of the dolly's wheels to create the path you want your camera to track.Excellent, great quality accessory.

First off, I am a huge fan of Neewer Products and this dolly lives up to their rep. The look and feel of it screams precision and strength. The rubber wheels flow; the ability to change its curve feels firm and smooth; the ball head and phone clamp fit like a glove.I found using it with my iPhone a bit cumbersome because the iPhone's lens is very much off-center. If I try to center the lens the clamp disturbs the phone buttons. With the lens off-center it is difficult to make a curved dolly move and keep the subject in the center. In addition, when the iPhone is on the ball head it raises the camera about 6" - looking down on the subject. It may be necessary to rig the dolly so the subject is elevated.I also found it is helpful to be able to tilt up and down while making moves to adjust composition. I see how with some practice this would be attainable by loosening the ball head bolt. The dolly worked much better with a little Sony RX100. It sits lower on the dolly, allowed for a longer lens and is centered to the dolly. In the video the first two shots are using the Sony, the last the iPhone.I also tested the dolly with my Sony A7s. It worked quite well as long as I used a lighter prime lens, if the camera is too lens heavy the dolly looses balance. It's really fun to use and I look forward to making table top videos with smooth dolly moves.
