NEEWER SD001 Camera Slider Dolly with Ball Head & Phone Clamp

This NEEWER camera slider dolly arrived in a cardboard box and is well packaged and padded with each individual component slotted into foam. In the box is the camera table dolly, a ball head attachment, a phone clamp attachment and a user manual.The dolly has a load capacity of 3kg and measures 100mm in length x 84mm in width and 20mm in height. The dolly and ball head are constructed from aluminium alloy with the phone clamp being made from plastic (it is a bit of a shame the phone clamp isn’t made from the same durable metal alloy but I suppose this could potentially scratch a phone). The setup is very lightweight (220g) so if you wanted to travel with the gear, it is easy to transport. The 1/4” mounting screw is compatible with most DSLR cameras and fits both my Nikon and Panasonic camera well.The setup comes with a ball head mount which has great flexibility with both 360° rotation and 90° tilt movement. It also has a rubber pad to protect your camera against scratches from the component. It is possible to connect both the phone clamp and your camera directly onto the ball head attachment for genuine flexibility with the dolly. The dolly itself features adjustable angles as it can be tilted between -45° and +45° to create different circular movement pathways as well as the linear movement when set at 0°. The phone clamp is quite versatile as it is rotatable in both landscape and portrait orientations and my iPhone fits into the holder securely. The phone clamp also has a cold shoe mount so you have the capacity to add on accessories such as a microphone or lights.The four wheels on the dolly are padded with soft rubber rings and move really smoothly without making any noises that can be picked up on the video recording. I would say that the dolly setup is best used with a smaller lens with a DSLR, as the dolly isn’t heavyweight enough to balance a cantilevering lens. I will be using it with both my iPhone and DSLR and so far, the results have been impressive and all components lock securely into position on the setup and don’t move once tightened.The setup is ideal for both indoor and outdoor video recording although I will be using it to record short product videos so will mostly be using it in a studio environment. It has excellent zoom and panning capabilities with smooth actions which is perfect for our needs and makes it much easier to create professional looking videos. The dolly is currently unavailable at the time of reviewing but when it does come back into stock this is definitely worth considering – I would recommend it.
