NEEWER Q6 600Ws 2.4G TTL HSS Outdoor Studio Flash

The NEEWER Q6 600Ws TTL Outdoor Flash is a powerful and affordable portable strobe that performs exceptionally well in real-world portrait and outdoor shoots. With enough 600Ws output to overpower sunlight, fast recycle times that keep up during sessions, reliable TTL and high-speed sync, long battery life, and a Bowens mount compatible with a huge range of softboxes and modifiers, it delivers results that feel close to much more expensive lighting systems. I personally liked how portable it was for location shoots, and the battery never let me down — I only needed to recharge it once I got home. The main downside was that my Canon R50 required the Canon AD-E1 adapter for reliable wireless triggering, as Canon’s R-series cameras can sometimes be finicky with third-party flash systems. Before using the adapter, I relied on the camera’s built-in flash to trigger the Q6 remotely, but that added unwanted extra light from the camera itself. Once properly set up, operation was seamless. I also mounted the Q6 onto a tripod using a spare mount, which made it far more portable than carrying around a large light stand. If you’re on a budget and looking to get into portrait photography, the Q6 is a fantastic choice and an excellent entry into off-camera lighting.

I’ve been a long time fan of Neewer products and it’s cool to see how over the years the quality of their offerings and product range has increased while still keeping things more on the budget side- this flash is a great example of that. This is a professional grade product without breaking the bank.I’m more of a video person, so I’m more used to continuous lighting and pretty new to flashes. With that said, I have a Canon Speedlite 430EXii, as well as a Neewer tt560 and Neewer ML300 flashes. This Neewer Q6 is definitely my highest quality flash now- both in terms of build quality as well as features. I will mention though, that if you want to use this you will need some sort of trigger. I separately purchased a Neewer QPro transmitter to go with this. A worthy investment especially as I plan to build out my flashes.Making adjustments and changing modes is extremely easy both on the flash itself as well as via the transmitter- which is a huge change over my older cheaper flashes which require any adjustments to be made in the flash itself. This allows for quick and easy adjustments and less time spent messing around and dialling things in - especially if you’re shooting by yourself. It has high speed sync and TTL capabilities so you should be covered for most uses. It also packs quite the punch. I’ve only used it indoors currently for headshots but I’m looking forward to testing it outside.It comes with a bowens mount which is to be expected, and is awesome since that means it will work with all of my accessories I already own. I will mention though that the mount can be a little sticky depending on what you have on it. My beauty dish takes a little more muscle than I would want/ expect to lock on and take off. Nothing deal breaking though. The supplied cover comes on and off super easy.The case is so great to have. My other ML300 didn’t come with one, and whenever you get a piece of gear without a way to transport it it’s always a pain in the butt and you end up with less than optimal solutions most the time. This case is awesome. It’s not a full on hard shell but it’s harder than a soft shell. It’s sturdy and compact and protects the flash and it built to fit the flash and the accessories- including a second battery (which isn’t included- just one is, but it lasts pretty long).Overall very happy. It’s made me want to experiment more with the creative photography side of things.

packs a lot of bang for the buck. here is a strobe with a different footprint, outperforming a Godox AD500 II at half the cost. Bravo!

These things are the best lights I’ve ever owned plus, they look really cool with their square design kind of resembles a retro style camera. They work seamlessly with the Neweer remote.

Holy cow, this is such a great flash! I already have two Q4s that I've been more than happy with, but I needed a little extra oomph to create an outdoor indoor studio shoot look. If you've used Godox or Westcott or really anything, the Neewer's ease of use, portability, price point and build quality will win you over. I love that I can (or an assistant can) run with it as I'm shooting. I love that it is bright enough to mimic the sun, or overpower it, if necessary. Everything about this flash, I love. I've not had it long enough to speak to durability or battery life (batteries do run down faster than the Q4, but they're also putting out a lot more power,) but if there's a problem, I'll update my review. I only wish Neewer would restock their magnetic accessory kit with the snoot and color gels to go with the Q4 and Q6!

This flash is extremely bright and produces a good quality of light. I like the fact that it can be battery powered or powered through the charger and I think that adds to it's versatility in the field. The light was relatively easy to setup although I did have to do a reset on the settings to set the channel as the options were not coming up on the other screen. The instructions could be a bit better as this is the first wireless flash I've ever used. I had to reference some YouTube videos to get things setup properly. I used this with a Godox X3 and needed to put the light into "RX Mode: Compat". Once I did that the light responded to the trigger with no issues. I was able to produce some really nice pictures with my Panasonic S3 and this light. The light comes in a nice case that feels well made and does a good job protecting the light. I think this light is relatively inexpensive for what you get and if you need a high power portable flash, this is a good choice.

I tried this flash and found the build quality and features to be solid. It performed as described and seemed capable for the right use case. Ultimately, it did not fit my specific workflow or needs, so I decided to return it. That said, there was nothing inherently wrong with the product itself. This could be a good option for someone whose setup aligns better with what it offers.
