NEEWER RGB1200 60W APP Control RGB LED Video Light

I wanted to add a bit of color to still photos. The RGB1200 is certainly capable of providing lots of variations. Easy learning curve and with the ability to be mobile in its protective case. This is certainly a versatile light.

The NEEWER RGB 1200 60W LED Video Light has really opened my eyes to how useful barndoors are for lighting. There are times when I photograph, or film the subject, or scene, and want it lit with a defined amount of light, but don't want the area off to the sides of the subject or scene to be catching much of the light. Speedlights, reflectors, and softboxes often work for this purpose, but sometimes the falloff lighting line is too well defined and they can be time consuming to set up. Using the NEEWER RGB1200, I've discovered that I can better control the light falloff of the scene by simply positioning the barndoors on this light to be wide open (a lot of falloff - less defined line), or to be closed up some (less falloff - more defined line). Another benefit to using barndoors is that I can also better control where the light will bounce off of surrounding surfaces, which can also have an effect on filming and photography. I am so happy for the barndoor feature because using the barndoor technique will save me hours in an upcoming project.This RGB 1200 LED light exudes professional-grade quality, as does much of the NEEWER lineup of gear. This light is solidly built and comes with a diffuser, foam padded carrying case, AC power cord and AC to DC 15V-72W power adapter, plus a small manual in several languages. So far, I've been trying it out with the included AC power adapter, but this light will also work on batteries, 1 to 2 NP-F750 and NP-970 rechargeable batteries. The batteries, along with its "U" shaped mount/handle, make this a great option for in-motion portability, which will be very useful for my next project. This is a precision colour light with a tool chest of features. There are 3 modes of operation to work with - CCT, HSI, and FX modes. There are 18 special effects to work with, which are useful for filming.One of the coolest things is the very good NEEWER app. Using the app makes controlling the light's settings a breeze. You can also use the app to capture the surrounding light that your phone's camera sees, so that the NEEWER light will match it. And yet another very cool feature of the app is that you can use your phone to record a light sequence (Eg. Flashing orange light) and the light will emulate it - very cool!The NEEWER RGB1200 6OW LED Light is a fine, precision, professional tool for photographers and filmmakers (hobbyists and professionals) with a lot of features for creativity. It’s an easy 5 out of 5 stars from me!

The separate control of brightness and colour temperature has made it very easy to match the output of this light to ambient or other light sources. The brightness is important for lighting the blue or green chroma key screen while the full RGB spectrum will be useful when I need to throw a splash of colour on a backdrop. While I don't expect to use the FX features very often, it is nice to have that option.

Purchased one, I really like the size and the barn doors, its very bright, solid build, good ios app, wish it came with batteries and a charger.

We are hobbyist, creative and an expressive family. In order for our imagination to translate through pictures or screens, we need proper lightning. That’s why we decided to try the Neewer RGB 1200 LED Video light.We were excited when we opened the package and saw the case…yeah a case! Nothing’s worse than not having something to protect your expensive light. After that we plugged in the AC power adapter and we were ready to go. All the controls you need are on the rear of the light. You have a mode button that lets you switch from multiple function like the HSI mode or CCT mode. It’s also impressive that you have access to 18 scene effects to enhance any video or photo shoot. You can even connect the light to an app, which gives you more control of the light. My wife was over the moon excited on how bright and beautiful the colours were coming from the Neewer light. You have 4 flaps that will either narrow or expand the light source. ✅WHAT I LIKE: ▪️Fully customizable with access to a full spectrum of colours 2500k to 8500k. ▪️The ability to shift from 1% brightness to 100% ultra bright. ▪️The app controls are way better than the controls on the light. You can change, switch and modify all your settings quickly and accurately. It labels each of the scene modes, so you know what each mode is called, unlike the physical light where you’re using symbols that may not be obvious. ▪️Firmware is updatable by using the Neewer app. ▪️We love the carrying case for the light, making it easier for portability. ▪️Feels very high quality. This light is heavy. Be sure you have a light stand that can handle it’s weight. ▪️My wife’s favorite mode is the music feature mode that glows to the beat of different sounds. She is already planning a summer karaoke concert in the backyard. Lol! ❌WHAT I DON’T LIKE: ▪️We wished it came with a stand to mount the light. Thankfully we own a stand, but it is an extra expense if you don’t have one. ▪️You can add battery packs to truly make this device portable. Yet again it’s another extra expense that you need to buy separately. ▪️The controls on the light are okay, but you’re limited to dials on the light. ▪️Even though I like the App, I’m not a fan of putting random Apps onto my devices. I prefer remotes, but maybe I'm old fashioned and overly cautious.😏 🦋OVERALL:We really love this light and it gives you so many options. Whether you want to only upgrade your general lighting from cool or warm white. Boost your scenes with explosive colours that will fill the room with all the colours of the rainbow or more. We feel this Neewer light will help increase our creativity and help with our little side hustle. In the hands of both beginners and professionals, I am sure anyone will be able to unleash their full creative potential. We highly recommend this amazing light!
