The outer fabric and materials have a studio pro feel in terms of quality of the buildBoth Diffusion layers including grid are all Velcro into place. Assembly is fast once fully opened which brings me to my biggest concern is for smaller people or those with sensitive fingersOpening the softbox outer arms required substantial force before clicking open. It doesn't lock until fully pulled out and stays out clicking into an open position; won't mistakenly close while opening other arms This Neewer NS1P Octagonal Softbox is far better build quality then the one that was originally included with the COB light seen in the included video.

Finally I can say I give give 5Stars on NEEWER 17.7"/45cm Octagonal Softbox. Its perrrrrfect for my Neewer rgb MS60c. This is great on the light stand, easy to open and close and the extra Diffusers/Honeycomb Grid is a plus. Did I mention light weight? Easy on the wrist. I don't want to use my other softboxes anymore, unless i have to. I highly recommend it.

This 17.7" Octagonal Softbox Bowens Mount comes in an easy-to-carry bag with all the accessories you'll need; two white diffusers, an inner small diffuser, an outer large diffuser, and a grid for directing the light.Setup: This softbox is super easy to set up with arms that bow out and click in place and with an easy release on the mount you can easily fold it down to store it back into the bag. It's also made with the industry standard Bowens mount, making it super easy to use with all the professional video and photography light brands on the market. The inside has a reflective material in case you just need the light strong and focused. The diffusers are super easy to set up as they're all edged with velcro for easy-on-off attachment to the softbox.Use: There's not much to say here as it does exactly what it's supposed to - it softens the light and diffuses it evenly over your subject (to the extent a 17.7" softbox can).Overall, if you're looking for an excellent yet not-too-expensive small Bowens mount softbox, then this NEEWER 17.7" Octagonal Softbox should be at the top of your list.

This is a very well constructed softbox. Materials are great quality.I have other soft boxes and what stands out for me is how easy it is it open and close. I attached a video but often the rods are hard to pull in to place and even harder to release via the clips on the bowens ring. As you can see on the video this is really easy to release.You get the softbox as well as an inner diffusion baffle and out one. They also give you a grid which is nice. The only place they cheaped out is the carry bag which is a soft nylon bag rather than the thicker, stronger bags from other brands but I think its a decent compromise.Overall, very happy with this. Great quality.

This is a great, small octagonal softbox by Neewer.The quality of materials throughout is great.The click in place ribs are easy to assemble and a simple press of a clip makes it easy to fold down. You can leave the diffusion in place when dismantling too and the attached strap holds it all in place, saves a bit of time next time you use it.This size of softbox is perfect for using smaller lights like Neewer's COB lights and their hand holdable video lights.Diffuses the light beautifully and you can add 2 layers of soft diffusion, which is a bonus and also comes with the honeycomb grid for extra control of your lighting.Slots straight back into the nylon carry bag that comes with it when you're finished so its ready to go for your next shoot.Great bit of kit.

This softbox is the easiest I've used so far regarding opening and closing. It's also a great size for me personally as I have a tiny home studio that just can't handle big softboxes. But I also do a lot of photography and video on the go while traveling around in my old VW Westfalia campervan, where storage space is at a premium.I folded it back up with everything still attached (both diffusers & grid), and it folded up just fine, which is pretty darn handy. The way this softbox opens and closes is certainly innovative and works like a champ.This softbox will work well for both flash photography and LED video lights, which I do a mix of both. I will keep an eye on that inner diffuser panel when using high power LED lights to make sure there are no heat issues, but that panel can be easily removed if there are any problems. I do, however, like having both the inner and outer diffuser panels installed on a softbox since it really does soften the light even more.If you're planning on using the included grid, be sure to leave some room on the Velcro strip for it when installing the outer diffuser panel. There is plenty of room for both, but you need to place the diffuser panel as far back on the Velcro as you can to leave room for the grid.Overall, I'm very pleased with this octagonal softbox from Neewer. It seems like Neewer has really upped their game in recent years and are now producing some really quality gear while still retaining a reasonable price.

I admit I don't have the broadest experience with octagonal softboxes, only 4 different brands. But I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to lock the 8 rods in place. I didn't have to use extraordinary strength, nor did I break any of the rods. What a simple job. Same to take down. As for the rest, it has a good Bowens mount, inner and outer white diffusers, and a grid. All the materials are good. Comes in a storage bag. Great price, easy assembly, good materials - what's not to like? Easy to recommend.
