NEEWER LS-79 2X 240mm Converter for Phone Telephoto Camera Lens

I wish I had this lens adapter a couple of months ago during my wildlife safari. While I managed to capture some fantastic photos and videos, this adapter would have significantly enhanced my phone’s reach, allowing me to capture even more detailed and clear images. It even seems to have enhanced the Bokeh.Prerequisite: Before using this telephoto lens adapter, ensure you have an existing Neewer cage with the camera lens adapter. Fortunately, I already owned the compatible Neewer phone cage.This lens produces exceptionally high-quality images, thanks to its 2X zoom feature. It enables me to get closer to a subject without disturbing it. So, my 5X optical zoom iPhone lens effectively becomes a 10x optical zoom range when I use this adapter.The attachment process is straightforward. Simply remove the caps and screw the 2X lens into the designated slot for the lens. It’s recommended to turn off the auto lens switch to prevent the camera from switching lenses while you’re focusing.The kit includes a convenient carrying case, the 2X lens adapter, a cleaning cloth, some remover pads, and comprehensive instructions. The lens features caps for both ends. The larger front cap is a screw-on metal cap, while the rear cap is a rubber push-on cattle cap.As the saying goes, “The best camera is the one you have with you.” This telephoto lens adapter, when paired with my iPhone and cage, would be more convenient to carry around for casual photography compared to my much larger SLR camera.Size: 2.5” x 1.6” and weighs in at 4.7oz (with lens caps) and 4.4 oz without lens caps.

So this telephoto lens for android/iphone is very nice quality and built well. The attachment is has some weight to it as well. The teleconverter also comes in and with a nice hard shelled case to keep safe. This item also comes with stickers to cover your wide angle lense when in use. I do need to order myself a phone cage to test out and see how well the clarity is when zooming. This does work with 17mm threads to attach.I will report back once I have fully tested.

Lens comes with a nice semi-rigid zipper case, a sheet of 15mm dust removing stickers, a sheet of 20mm dust removing stickers, and a small microfiber cloth. Being as small as it is, the zipper case is pretty sturdy, the zipper works smoothly, it has a felt-lined foam insert to hold the lens securely in the case, as well as a mesh pouch to hold the stickers and microfiber cloth. The lens has an aluminum screw-in cap over the wider outward-facing lens and a rubber thread protector/lens cap for the threaded phone-facing lens. The lens feels really well made- it feels solid, the visible lenses looks perfectly clear, and the metal lens cap screws in smoothly. When initially installing the lens into my 17mm threaded adaptor plate (the first time I’d used that adaptor plate), it turned maybe 1/4 of a turn before the threads kind of seized and felt too tight, like they weren’t the right threads/it wasn’t going to fit. After backing it off and trying again, it seized up again, but felt like it turned a little bit further the second time. With a delicate force, the threads kind of “broke in” and it now it screws in nicely- not sure if that was the fault of the adaptor plate or the threads on the lens. It’s a bit tricky to get the stock camera app on and stay on the 5x camera while using the lens- it kept switching in and out while the lens was installed. The camera either constantly needs to be pointed at something far away (aiming it at anything closer and LIDAR forces it to switch cameras) while using the lens, or the best solution I’ve found is to use a third party camera app that allows for the different cameras to be manually selected and forces it to stay on the selected camera the whole time. With the lens on the camera, there’s no discernible quality degradation to the picture- it looks just as good and clear as the bare camera lenses, just 2X zoomed in.
