I happen to be a fan of small lights like this one from Neewer. I have a few fixtures from Neewer and you definitely get a lot of performance from their lighting products. This is small enough to pack in a travel kit. For travel, I would recommend using a 99W V-Mount battery to power the fixture and leave the AC power supply (included) back at your studio. It has 1/4"-20 mounting points for attaching to a light stand or magic arm. Controls are fairly straightforward with two push buttons, one for on/off one for mode settings and then two knobs to adjust color temp and brightness. You get all the adjustability you need in a bi-color lamp and they even have the obligatory effects settings that I never seem to need. The kit comes with a cone reflector and silicone diffuser which works well to soften the light output. I would recommend adding the Neewer CHB1 which lets you adapt Bowens mount softboxes which is an improvement IMO over the included cone/diffuser. The app for control of the fixture is very good and I use it with all of the Neewer fixtures I own. Setup of the app between my iPhone and fixture is straightforward and simple. Another great light fixture from Neewer at a very good price. This is going to find a permanent place in my travel kit.

This little light is something else. It looks small and feels almost too light, but when you turn it on, it basically turns night into day. And then everything in between. I can dial in just a soft glow or crank it up to full brightness and suddenly my whole room looks like noon. The color temperature adjusts from warm to cool really smoothly, so I can match whatever else is going on around me.What I really like is how simple they made the power options. You get the normal AC adapter, but you can also run it off a V mount battery or just plug in any USB C power bank you already have lying around. That alone makes taking this light anywhere a no brainer. It has tripod mounts on every side too, so you can attach it to almost anything without fighting the setup. The included diffuser is great because now I do not need to pack a big softbox when I travel. And the Neewer studio app works smoothly with it. No lag or weird connection issues, just easy control from my phone. Everything about this light feels like someone actually thought about what people need and left out the extra junk.

The device itself is small and light enough to mount on just about any tripod or stand you might have. A proper travel case would make this somewhat more portable, but it doesn't seem too fragile so it might do ok in your gear bag on its own. (The shipping box has a foam insert and could be retained for safe storage, but more as long-term storage.)The back of the lamp has a power button, an intensity knob and a mode button and knob; you can adjust whatever you need to without using the app. If you plan on adjusting brightness in the middle of a shot, the knob would be the way to go; the app's brightness slider is noticeably notch-y when operated. The app is easy to set up and is what I will use to change modes, what as the app has room for clearer explanatory text. I suppose that once I figure out the common modes, I will skip the app more often. The modes are extensive and reasonably convincing and adjustable, especially considering the fact that this device is priced more for hobbyists than pros. The light temperatures seem accurate. The lamp itself has three physical modes (four if you count using it without the reflector — which I would not recommend): The reflector used by itself (for harder light), the silicone diffuser mounted bulging out (for wide diffused light), and the diffuser dimpled in (for more focused softer light). That's plenty of versatility for such a compact unit (I'd say). You could use it with a stand diffuser or reflector, i suppose, but what's the advantage of portability when you've gone to the trouble of lugging and setting up stand units? I won't be using this lamp for that.If you can plug in, the included laptop-style power block works fine. If you need to go wireless, it will run on a larger battery brick (I wouldn't expect a simple phone charger battery to work well). That said, it will drain a battery pretty quickly at the higher settings (take a look at the attached photo to see the draw I saw at a high setting).

My boyfriend is a youtuber, and he films a lot of videos an podcasts outside his studio and lighting equipment usually becomes annoying fast because large setups are heavy and inconvenient to carry. This light surprised both of us because it stays incredibly compact while still producing very strong output. The brightness honestly looks fantastic on camera, especially for such a small unit. He has used it for product videos, outdoor shoots, and talking clips recently, and the footage looks cleaner and more professional compared to his older portable lights. The adjustable color temperature also helps a lot because he can switch between warmer and cooler lighting depending on the mood he wants. Before he started using it, I searched online about CRI ratings and learned why creators care so much about CRI96+ lighting. Accurate colors and natural skin tones definitely make a visible difference in recorded footage. The app control ended up being much more useful than expected too. Adjusting brightness remotely while standing in front of the camera saves time during filming sessions. He also likes how lightweight it feels when packing gear for outdoor shoots.Something to keep in mind, the fan can still be heard slightly at higher brightness settings and I wish a portable tripod came included, but honestly, my boyfriend loves this powerful light became one of his favorite tools for portable filming setups almost immediately. Highly recommended!

This compact video light is impressively bright. When I first turned it on it was at 50% brightness and I it was still bright enough to light up the whole corner of a room. It is very lightweight but seems well made. It is easy to control intuitively with a pair of dials on the front for brightness and color temperature. The display is easy to read so you always know what the settings are, even if it's mounted a good bit above or below eye level. The light has a reflector attachment that easily mounts on the front and also serves as a mount for the included soft white diffuser that goes over the front of the reflector when a softer light is needed. The light can be powered by the included A/C cord that includes a large power brick and long cord. I prefer to power it with USB C which makes it easy to run off a battery pack. It is also compatible with multiple handle batteries if you're holding the light by hand. The video light also has a companion app that can be used to update firmware on the light, manage multiple lights from one place, and more. My needs are well met just through the simple controls on the light itself, though I will also use the app for firmware updates.Overall this is a very bright and good quality video light and seems to be a pretty good value for the price. I'm glad I ordered it.

What an awesome light. This light weight small compact versatile light is perfect in my mobile light kit. It's plastic but feels pretty solid. The light looks great. It works just as most Neewer lights and photography and video lights do. It is app compatible so it's worth the money if you're in the Neewer echo system. With the app you can control this from frs away which is nice for hair lights. The light does have some flaws. I own the 60W version too but this issue is only with this version. The light will sip power even when powered off from a battery so if you're not using it and walk away the battery will die. The proprietary Mount is difficult to find the modifiers in stock. So if you purchase the light, you'll want to find the modifiers as well. I got the Bowens mount adapter which is plastic but it works. In addition to the Bowens mount adapter, I wish it would have come a stand adapter as well. Not just quarter twenties. I like this 100 w light. It's pretty bright with the dish that it comes with but in a small soft box. This light works great overhead small spaces and it's easily powered with a DC barrel connector or USB C. Power supply.

This NEEWER FS100B LED video light feels impressively compact for the level of power it delivers. The build is solid and lightweight, and it has a clean, functional design that fits easily into a small setup or travel kit. It gives the impression of a serious lighting tool without the bulk of traditional studio lights.I used it for both photo and video work, testing it as a key light in a small studio setup and also for quick content recording. I adjusted brightness, color temperature, and tried both the onboard controls and app control to see how flexible it was in real use.The brightness is a standout feature, especially for its size. It produces strong, consistent light and the adjustable color temperature makes it easy to match different environments. The high color accuracy helps keep tones looking natural on camera. The app control is useful for fine adjustments, and the included reflector boosts output when needed. The main thing to note is that as a compact COB light, it can produce harsher shadows without additional diffusion, and it does generate some heat under extended use.Overall, this is a powerful and portable lighting option that balances performance and size very well. It is best suited for creators and photographers who want a strong, compact key light that can be used both in studio setups and on the go.
