NEEWER BASICS BR13 12" Full Screen Ring Light

I got this Ring Light Kit a few weeks ago for my home studio, this thing turned out to be way better than I expected.First off, the brightness is amazing. It’s got 144 edge-lit LEDs and the light is super soft and even—no harsh shadows or weird glare. I can adjust the brightness from 1% to 100%, which is great cause sometimes I just need a little glow and other times I want full-on studio vibes. The color temperature range is also super wide (3000K to 6500K), so I can go from warm cozy tones to bright daylight depending on the mood or what I’m filming.The setup was easy, even tho I’m not super techy. The stand goes up to 68 inches and feels sturdy—not wobbly like some cheap ones I’ve tried before. The phone holder is adjustable and holds my iPhone 14 Pro Max just fine, even with the case on. I love this lamp! I'm not using it for videos, but for adding light to my garage so that I don't have to open the garage door for sunlight, and it works great! It's bright! I did test it out for taking a picture of myself, though, and I love the bluetooth clicker which connected to my phone. I placed my phone in the phone stand situated on the light pole, and clicked my picture from across the room with the blue tooth clicker. One can adjust the lamp light from warm to cool, and adjust brightness as well. There is a remote control for the light, so I can stand across the garage to turn it on and off and change brightness. On the back side of the light are the control knobs plus a screen showing the percentage of brightness you are using. I desire to use 100% brightness and like the fact that I can look at the screen to make sure. The base of this lamp is heavy and keeps it sturdy. I'm real pleased with this light in every way.

I originally got this ring light so I could take some photos of my trading cards and figures. I really like it because it comes with some super sweet features that I’ve never seen before. The functionality is pretty typical as it serves as a great light, but also can be a stand when the light is not used. It comes with a few different accessories, such as a phone holder, and tripod top. It also comes with a remote control that already has batteries in it ready to use. I think it’s a good value for your money because you can change the color temperature and the brightness of the ring, light easily with the remote or on the back of the ring light itself. It’s able to be standing up with a really strong base, it’s a little heavy to move around, but it definitely stays still. It’s super easy to assemble and use, and the remote is being able to be used from pretty far away. I especially really like the size of the ring light.

Let’s get this out of the way: I really trust and have a favorable opinion of NEEWER branded products.This fill light on a stand is the right balance of affordable and incredibly useful. I’m a designer and often photograph objects or products for using in editorial spreads. I don’t like shooting at higher ISO’s for the grain but a fill light like this one does a great job at letting me shoot faster shots with a lower ISO value.Basically, I have more usable shots that I can trust will enlarge in print without getting grainy artifacts.I like the weighted base, the footprint is pretty small compared to mounting a light on a tripod or traditional lighting stand and I don’t have to worry about it being knocked over.The most surprising aspect came from a minor feature: the phone holder that mounts to the light can actually hold my iPhone 16 Pro Max with its case! Most mobile phone holders require me to remove my case and potentially set up situation where I damage my phone.

I really appreciate the design and thinking that went into making this - it's very well put together. I assembled it quickly and it just seems high quality, like the manufacturer is good at this kind of product and knows what folks need and want. It's well worth the price. The base is very sturdy & heavy and the adjustable telescopic pole extended easily but felt solid. Fully extended it's taller than me. The color temperature range goes from warm to blue-white and then there's the brightness as well. The remote has some quick settings you can access for color/warmth and brightness. When turned back on it keeps the last setting.It comes with a phone holder should you want to have a phone videoing you from the vantage point of the telescoping pole holding the light (or maybe some other pole / column you have).I look forward to using this on my future Zooms - and maybe my other participants will appreciate I'm not so harshly lit anymore.One surprise: it comes with a red Bluetooth camera-click remote. And it works with my Android phone just fine! You can obviously use this for shutter control for whatever it's paired with.One negative (yet I'm not dropping a star): I could not get the power button on the back to power on/off. According to the manual (you have to go to support.neewer.com and search for BR13) you press on the power button to turn it on / off. No amount of pressing would do this. I had to use the remote to power it on / off, which means if your remote is gone or not working, you can't get this to work.
