*** The good 👍✔ Overall Quality: At first, I was shocked by the plastic used for the rig, but I quickly found that this design was very sturdy AND light. This makes this rig a very nice tool to carry around.✔ Accessories connectivity: As you can see in my video, there are A LOT of possibilities to connect accessories. This is a genuinely nice design.*** Other comments / Heads-up👉 The bottom holding bracket brings the phone buttons quite close to the rig structure. In the case of my iPhone, this simply turned off my phone. As you may see in my video, after switching side, all was off.Verdict: I give this rig 5 stars.

This rig makes holding a phone easier (and prevents inadvertent pressing or lens blocking), provides many ways to mount the phone (and rig), and allows attaching lighting and mics easily.Construction is primarily plastic, but the rig is very solid. The phone holder is spring loaded, and a knob on the back (the piece with Neewer branding) can be screwed in to secure the phone in place. Shown in my photos is a Samsung S10+; my S21 Ultra also fits with tons of room to spare.Mounting options:Top* – two ¼” threaded holes; three cold shoe mountsBottom* – three ¼” threaded holes; two cold shoe mountsSide#1 – one ¼” threaded holeSide#2 – nothing* - Assuming that the edge the phone is held against is the bottomTwo ¼” threaded holes on each of the top and bottom are threaded all the way thorough, allowing attachments on either side of the rig if spacing allows. The rig can be sat up in landscape mode without the need for a stand; it can be sat in portrait mode also but is too tippy for comfort.I ordered this specifically to use with a post-style mount for shooting videos of items on my desk. Currently I use a flexible mount with alligator-style mount, but the mount blocks part of the phone and the whole assembly shakes too much during recording. This rig allows easy attachment to a solid post (I use a Neewer TL283), and will facilitate the addition of lighting when required.I’m really happy with the flexibility that this rig affords when shooting video with a smartphone.

Definitely worth considering!• Great built quality.• Affordable.• Widely compatible with various accessories.• Lightweight.Cons:• Not compatible with some phone cases.• The phone mount is annoying to adjust manually (There is no spring to automatically adjust itself)But overall i would absolutely recommend this to anyone who likes to add accessories such as a microphone, tripod or LED lights.

This is great for making videos with your phone. It adds alot of stability to your video which will add another level of professionalism to your content. Best of all you get extra mounts to add lights or microphones. I also use a microphone and small light by the same company and this is great when put together for video. Its a great price and will definitely up your content creation game or even personal videos. Highly recommended!

I do not mind the plastic construction of this rig as it seems to be built with a decent amount of rigidity; I like that this is much lighter than a metal rig which is a bit more cumbersome to use with additional gear attached. With so many mounting points, I appreciate the modularity and endless combinations of accessories I can add on.My favourite is the portrait orientation which is helpful when taking photos on a tripod; I added on a quick plate on the bottom to easily dismount it from a ball head adapter. The phone does stay securely in once I tighten the back dial and will not fall out if the entire assembly accidently falls.I had no trouble mounting anything to the 1/4-inch mounting points and cold shoe mounts; The openings for the cold-shoe mounts are quite generous and all my accessories slotted in smoothly. I like the included cable management straps as it helps keep the wiring from accessories taut.I would say that I have medium hands and the dual grips felt comfortable to hold while filming in a landscape orientation; The plastic does have a fine textured feel which does not feel slippery to hold.

This rig is so awesome. You can use your phone as the camera and move it around almost like a professional rig. Especially while panning and moving the camera around, you have much better grip and agility as well as extra stability that you can provide through your body movements. In addition, it allows you to easily attach external microphones and lights and move the entire unit around all at the same time. You can also set it up in a more static setup on a tripod. It comes with two velcro straps that allow you to keep any wires out of the way, or to prevent them from dangling around.

I usually use the OM3 gimbal for mobile video recording and was interested in trying this cage rig because of all the mounting options. On the Samsung S20FE, using super steady locks the camera resolution at FHD 30 frames, which is lower than what I usually film at, so I would rather not use the digital stabilization. The phone cage rig is a setup that I will have to learn, practice, and get used to, since I won’t have the stabilization of the motorized phone gimbal. There are five cold shoe mounting slots, three on top and two on the bottom. There are six 1/4 inch thread holes, three on top, two on the bottom, and one on the left side handle. Note that you may need 1/4 inch thread adapters to attach your accessories. This doesn’t come with any, but it does include two cable ties. The cage is lightweight with a plastic build. The handles are cylindrical and fit well in my hands. There is no grip or padding on the handles but it feels okay to hold. The phone holder is spring loaded and has a twist locking knob to prevent your phone from falling out of the cage. There is thick contoured rubber padding for the sides of the phone. I’ve used this with a 5.8 inch and 6.5 inch phone, and both fit with and without a case. You can only mount the phones in the cage in landscape. For my Samsung phones, the holder does cover the buttons when the phones are centred, but this is the same with the OM3 and I am still able to use the rig and phone like this. The Neewer phone cage is an interesting tool to learn and try out if you’re into videography and camera work. I do wish it came with 1/4 inch thread screws so I can readily use my accessories.

I loved it, it saved me so much space, I was putting the mic, and the two lights in the picture, each one on a seperate tripod plus the phone, now I have all of them on one tripod.
