Description

  • Professional Parabolic Softbox- The 23.6"/60cm parabolic softbox features a smooth, even silver internal coating on the thickened nylon cloth that broadens, diffuses, and softens light while retaining true to life color rendition. Includes two layers of light diffusers and a honeycomb grid for optimal output
  • Honeycomb Grid & Diffusers- The softbox lighting kit includes internal and external diffusers, which can be combined for an even softer and more diffused light. The honeycomb grid directs light at 45° and reduces spill, providing a distinctive soft yet punchy lighting effect that defines the model's facial structure

I have the 90CM version and it is very good at projecting light far, efficiently.
I have "normal" true parabolic softboxes, and this model shows all the traits that a true parabolic holds: efficiently directs light to an almost parallel 'beam'; creates a large halo ring of light in the models' eyes; provides very even distribution; and has a very defined fall-off off axis [which means you do have to aim well].

All good things for my style of model/cosplayer photography.

So far so good! It took a little to get used to with the quick release feature, as it kinda has potential for a 'mouse trap' situation on the fingers 😬. But once you get it locked in, the softbox creates a beautifully direct light that is comparable to the Godox and Westcott brands. As far as durability in the long term, well, that has yet to be determined. I've only used it for a handful of shoots and the quick release feature really makes outdoor sessions a breeze when moving to different locations. The bowen attachment may be a little stiff at first when attaching it to a speedlight mount. But when you swap it out the second time, it will start to loosen up and click right in. The grid that comes with the softbox does an excellent job with precise lighting. Overall, this softbox is great and I may grab another softbox in the future.

very functional, bright and reflectiveeasy setup and disassemblywas a little heavy for my inexpensive light stand, requiring softbox to be directly above one of the stand legsrecommended

Great soft box at a good price, Neewer produce terrific photo equipment. This is my favourite soft box and even prefer it to my Westcott equipment.

I don't shoot that often but this size soft box is something I will need occasionally. I've never bought a Neewer Soft box before, I have several Gordox soft boxes, but this Neewer 47" parabolic was less expensive than the Gordox model and came with the honeycomb grid. For my needs this will work fine but if I had it to do over I would have gotten the Gordox version, only because their soft boxes and seem more sturdy and rugged. I feel like if I was using this Neewer one often, or traveling to lots of locations and constantly setting it up and breaking it down, it would probably wear out quickly. I'll only use it a few times a year and wanted a quick release Soft box for location shoots, or if you're someone with a home studio and you're going to set it up and leave it up this will probably work fine... but if your buying this quick release box because you're going to be traveling with it and setting it up often I'd spend the extra money to get the Gordox 47" model
