NEEWER X14 II All In One 14" Teleprompter

TL;DR - Assembly is a bit of a hassle, but in use it's great. The included remote makes on the fly adjustment quick and easy.DISCLAIMER - This review sample was provided to me free of charge. Video isn't my forte, but I know my way around equipment.In terms of build quality, it's okay. Feels a bit flimsy to me, but once everything is tightened and setup it feels secure enough. But let's be real, you're going to be using this in a controlled studio environment, so as long as you take some care in handling it, it'll last a good long time.Setup is a bit tricky at first (for new users I recommend reading the manual), but for anyone familiar with camera equipment you can likely figure it out without much issue. I do wish the bottom rail was arca swiss compatible, but there are enough mounting screws on the bottom to attach it to a tripod plate or light stand.In use, it's fantastic. Being able to read off of a script while effortlessly looking at the camera is made so much easier with this teleprompter. No need for memorization, which is perfect because I have the memory of a goldfish. Additionally, because you don't really see the lens, I found it surprisingly more relaxing while recording. I'm definitely camera shy, but I found the teleprompter really helped reducing that anxiety and I managed to get footage that might almost be considered usable.I would absolutely spend my own money on a device like this, and I would personally recommend this product.

The Neewer X14 II Teleprompter with RT113 Remote is a game-changer for anyone filming at home or in a studio. As a busy mom with three kids, I appreciate how easy it was to set up and use. The build quality is solid, with a stable base that fits my tripod perfectly, and the glass mirror works well for keeping eye contact with the camera while reading the script. The remote control is a nice touch—it's simple to adjust the speed and pause the text without interrupting the flow of filming.I did have a small hiccup with keeping my tablet secure, as it wasn't a perfect fit out of the box, but a bit of improvisation solved that issue. Other than that, the teleprompter really made filming my videos so much easier. If you’re looking for something that can help you keep your script in front of you while still engaging with your audience, this setup does the trick. Overall, it's a reliable and affordable option for creating smooth, professional-looking content at home.

Essentially this is two things: a remote control that connects to a device to turn that device into a teleprompter and a gadget to then allow you to film yourself reading from the teleprompter.If you're someone who does not need to film yourself reading — perhaps you're narrating an audiobook or providing audio for an animated picture or voiceover — then you can just purchase the remote and connect it to your phone or tablet and read from your device.However, if you need to be on screen when reading, you'll need the gadget part, which is the majority of what you're paying for here. It's a solid unit that you can rest your device on (using the same app and remote) that is then reflected on a large piece of glass that is angled just such so that a camera positioned behind the glass and shooting through it to film you does not see the reflected text. Sounds complicated but in fact works rather simply. This allows you to look straight at the teleprompter, and read from it, while looking directly into the lens of the camera behind it.Both of these elements work great. The remote has options for speed / direction of flowing text and gadget has an easy setup and is made from quality materials.However, I will stress that if you do not need to be on camera, then you are wasting your money on this and should just by the remote.Whatever you decide, this works extremely well.

Everything is great but my iPhone 14 pro is clearly reflecting the video. Its very annoying and you can clearly tell. Any solution to this someone please help?

I rely a lot on Teleprompters when I do my "how to" videos and the "a day in the life of" interviews.As my equipment and experience grows, I become more discriminating with the equipment I'm using.This review will present my experience after making two "how to" videos using the X14 Pro.I consider the X14 Pro is an easy decision for my durable Semi-Professional Teleprompter needs that will accept any of my tablets and perform in any light condition.*** The good 👍✔ Build: The whole teleprompter is made from solid metal. There are no loose fittings, every mobile element feels sturdy.✔ HD Clear Beam Splitter: That's a fancy way to call the transparent mirror. And it is HD all right. My opinion is that it is an impressive one-way mirror that delivers its promises.✔ Expandability: I hope it shows in the video I made, but the screw attachment holes, and the cold shoes are put where they are based on extensive analysis. This is a design success.✔ Wide Compatibility: I cannot say for extremely large video cameras, but as you can see in the video, you can certainly use semi-pro cams with this Teleprompter.✔ Assembly Free: Out of the carrying case, I simply had to unfold it carefully and I was ready to go.*** The so-so✘ Nothing. The "PRO" label is weel deserved.*** Other comments / Heads-up✅ Storage: The carrying case is a "road-case" in the way it is built. It will last.👉 Storage: Be careful the first few times when you store the Teleprompter. Wath the video I made to see what to do, and what to watch out for.👉 Remote: Practice reading with the remote BEFORE going live. There are some small quirks that may surprise you if you don't. For instance, even though it may feel like it can do it, you cannot simply reverse the flow of text like you see in the movies.Instead, the text will jump backwards by increments of full pages. It is neither good nor bad, but it is worth knowing.Verdict: I recommend it 100%. 5 fully deserved stars.

Neewer makes both the X14 and X14 Pro Teleprompters, which are pretty similar (and good products) with subtle differences. I will highlight the cases where there is such a difference.Transport case: The teleprompter comes with a carrying case with fitted foam. The fit is good, but there is not much loose.Compatibility with QR plate: If you want to install a Quick Release plate under the teleprompter, you will need to remove it for storage. The two 1/4 holes are spaced 28 mm apart, my 70 mm Arca plate can use 2 screws. Quick Release base may be left in place depending on the location and careful placement of the ropes. Please note that my Arca QR baseplate has the knob hitting the teleprompter plate, which is 70 mm wide.Fabric tent: The black fabric cuts most lights, excepts around the hinges, you need to adjust it a little better, it may require some fiddling with tweezer to place it correctly. It opens correctly, and once you get used to the magnet, it works OK. For my camcorder, I had to 3D print a lens shade to wrap the fabric over it. Even with a small lens shade it works nicely, a bigger lens shade will be easier to seal and will hold the fabric.Tripod mounting option: You got 3 screws, that gives you less range to balance weight compared to the X14.Camera mounting option: The 1/4 screw slide all the length of the plate which is 70 mm with rubber grip. It works nicely. The X14 Pro allows free access to the screw, better than the X14 which has some restrictions.Screen/tablet mounting: Flipping the flap and sliding a single clamp does the job. It accommodates my 15.6 mobile screen, allowing me to use it with a laptop. Different from the X14, the X14 Pro has a narrower 60 mm plate that accommodate wider tablets, around 23 cm.Accessories mounting: You can install microphone on the side of the screen. You may install lights, but they may be close to the screen. As they mount on the splitter frame, the weight will transfer onto the hinges. If you need to use this feature extensively, the X14 has a more complex, adjustable and independent option.Setup time: Really fast, unfold with minimal screws to set up. Faster than the X14.Remote: Remote only works with the app. The basic functionality of the app is good. The doc/docx import is a pain, and the cloud is limited to the app, no web access from PC. The cloud is using an alphanumerical password, this is considered weak security by current standards.Overall, a good teleprompter, this will be my personal favourite. I chose the X14 Pro because I want a wider screen, shorter setup time and my lights are already separated from the camcorder.
