NEEWER PA009E Universal Phone Cage Video Rig

If you need a rig for filming with your phone, look no further. This is exactly what I needed and I'm over the moon with my purchase. The build of this phone cage is robust and feels indestructible. The grips feel great in the hand and the added Bluetooth shutter button is very useful.Plenty of cold shoe mounts and 1/4" threads to add whatever you need for filming.Great value for money, especially for what you get.

i wanted a shutter release on the handle. that's hard to find. but this neewer kit has it and it works well over bluetooth. once i rcvd it, and set it up, i added the back gripper thing for a power bank. plus a magic arm on top for an led. today i ordered a neewer handle for those low moving shots. solid quality piece.i added the yellow tape so when im reaching for it, i know which is the right handle and what is up/down. maybe thats just me but i found myself grabbing it upside down sometimes. allen keys in handles are two sizes. very useful.

I supposed phones are good enough for video rigs. I regularly use video rigs for my mirrorless professional cameras but it was interesting to see this one.First lets talk design. The phone cage is well-constructed, providing a solid frame to secure your smartphone. This adds stability and helps produce smoother, more professional-looking videos. The side handle grips are very comfortable. The USB Type-C charging port allows you to charge your device while using the rig, also a plus. The design is pretty modular and you can change or remove accessories as you need.Next the bluetooth shutter is also smart. You don't have to touch your phone to start recording and you can easily record while your hands are on the grips. The initial setup was a little troublesome for me but I got it working no problem. If you use your phone to regularly record video, I recommend this for professional quality stability.

I've slowly been upgrading my camera gear and first on the list was a camera cage so since I've had luck with Neewer on some other camera equipment, I knew the NEEWER Universal Phone Cage would be perfect. First off, the cage is built solid (of aluminum alloy) from the cage to the handles. A friend of mine has a previous model and the handles didn't have the rubber texture around it which this one does and I love it; it gives you a really good grip and comfortable too. There are a total of four cold shoe mounts (top and bottom) and work well with my light. The game changer for me is the wireless bluetooth shutter button that's on top of the handle. This is such a great thing to have and now I've made my friend jealous. Neewer makes outstanding products, and once again, I'm a customer who highly recommends them.

This phone mount camera grip is very sturdy and feels good in the hand. Neewer is known for their bang for the buck quality. I love that the Allen keys for the screws are stored magnetically i the handle so you always have them on hand if you need to make adjustments. With 6 cold shoe mounts and a whopping 28 1/4in threads the versatility of this thing is amazing. The hand grip also has a built-in Bluetooth shutter button for added convenience.

Whenever I update phones and have to buy a new camera rig/grip it all becomes quite costly. This universal camera cage provides plenty of mounting points and cold shoe mounting to pretty much any phone. My main complaint about this rig is that it is quite wide and tall with too much room around the phone itself. The phone camera ends up in an awkward low left center position, but it still performs quite well.I have an iPhone 14 Pro, which fits well and securely in this cage. My next phone I anticipate needing an external SSD, which I already have in mind how to secure it to this rig.The cold shoe mounting is narrow, but I am able to use it with portable lights for accent lighting.Pairing the handle is easy and fast. This makes it all feel like a full-size camera. I really missed recording with two handles. It ships well padded and each component is machined aluminum with some plastic accents. It should last a long time as I know this brand to make good photo/video gear. It's on par with what I'd expect from prosumer gear.Overall, this provides plenty of mounting for all kinds of accessories, but at the cost of no longer being compact.
