This grip takes me back to the days of my old film cameras. It feels so familiar and yet so much more refined than the ones we used to have. I included many pictures in this review so that you can look it over.First, I believe the whole frame is metal. It’s surprising rigid and solid. I was expecting some plastic grip but this thing is well-made and substantial yet not heavy. It doesn’t make the camera ungainly. It actually adds some balance to the very lightweight Zfc.The grip has a texture similar to the camera body. It’s like a leather textured plastic/vinyl cover where your palm makes contact.Inside of the grip where the frame would touch the camera body on front and side has a foam pad to protect the finish. The instructions tell you to slide it on from the side, not from bottom to top when installing it.The frame runs the entire length of the camera body. The bottom has a lip so that you can grab the camera from the bottom to turn it vertically or pick it up easier. There is a 1/4 inch screw with a folding handle to attach it to the tripod mount. The front of the grip is significant and allows you to hold it firmly. There’s a thumb rest on the back that makes it incredibly easy to hold onto and balance the camera. The underside has alternate tripod mounts since the grip uses the camera’s mount. The right side bottom has a slot so that you could use a hand strap if you wanted to. (Not included). The frame has an opening and doesn’t interfere with opening the battery door.I’m very happy with this and look forward to having a more firm grasp on my camera when I’m out shooting.
