The hinged joints on this bit of kit are firm even with the 'lock down' screw backed out (the vertical spring loaded screw on top of the center bar), so there shouldn't be any issues with the different sections flopping around while you mount it on the 15mm rails of your rig of you get the V mount plate just how you like it. That screw locks in both the angle of the rail coupling and the back hinge of the battery plate at the same time.My shoulder rig has the shoulder pad back about as far as I can have it – maybe I need longer rails – and there was that little bit left for this battery plate to slip on without needing to change my existing arrangement. I did have a battery plate for the NP-F series of batteries back there but now I have the option of battery systems. I might even make a mod to the NP-F plate so it clicks into the V-mount receiver.The plate with the V-mount has two short hex head (4mm socket) screws and you can get creative with how you put them to use to play with positioning the plate. In my second example, one screw is in the top and the other one is coming up from underneath. There are two rows of 5 threaded holes on the underside.Chalk up another nice piece of rig items from Neewer that give me a lot of security and convenience across different camera setups I have.

About a year ago I started building out my SONY FX30 camera rig. I ordered bits and pieces from several manufacturers and various outlets. This kit could have saved me a good amount of time and bother. Neewer products are top notch and this is no exception. It is a perfect kit for adding a V-Mount battery to your camera rig, but I also use the 15mm rods for attaching other accessories (audio recorder/wireless receiver). Using this kit as a base provides you with a head start in configuring your rig to include what you want and need for your shoots. The adjustability (position) of the V-Mount plate/arm provides several options for how to orient the battery. I have ditched my "Franken-rig" and have begun to re-build off of this kit.

It’s well built, construction feels sturdy and nice. Attention to detail. All the thumb-style screw releases are awesome and the quick-release ones.
