Using it for professional work and so far it's been great. I like the remote control function

The Neewer Teleprompter C12 really impressed me with its modular and professional design. The build is sturdy, easy to assemble, and fits perfectly with different setups thanks to the 0.591 in (15 mm) LWS rod clamp. Everything adjusts smoothly and keeps the camera stable even during long recording sessions. The remote control is highly recommended — it’s responsive, has a good range, and makes filming alone much easier. The glass reflects the text clearly without affecting image quality, making it perfect for content creators, videographers, and interviews.Overall, it’s a reliable, versatile teleprompter with excellent value for money. Definitely worth it if you’re looking for professional performance without unnecessary complexity.

The important caveat to my review is that I've never used a teleprompter before. I've been slightly intimidated by the idea of setting up the gear and then coordinating the essential software. The good news is that this Neewer teleprompter--and the app you need to upload to your iPad to use it--are both fairly easy to set up and use. That said, the instruction manual included is a little sparse on important details for "Neewbies" like myself. Fortunately, a quick trip to YouTube University--and a few lucky guesses--and I was able to get everything set up and working. For example, you have to find just the right angle to tip the front glass in order to read it when the type scrolls by on the screen. The bluetooth remote is fairly easy to set up, but it feels counterintuitive that in order to slow down the scroll of the text, you need to click the up arrow button on the remote. (I wanted to click the down arrow--you know, to slow it down. But that actually sped it up!)I've read reviews from more experienced teleprompter users saying the briefcase it comes in is not very robust. I'm just glad it HAS a case. I'll try to baby it to make it last longer.I also had to do some trial and error to figure out how to properly project the text on the screen. (There's an icon in the app that you have to press to make the type reverse on the iPad--and therefore, be legible and right facing on the teleprompter screen.)I like that you can pause the scroll of the text while reading...in case you start to fall behind and need to catch up with your reading. Although I've heard there are now apps that LISTEN to your voice and advance the scroll at the actual speed you're reading. (That would be nice.)I also need to figure out where to attach a monitor so I can properly frame myself while reading. (I'm guessing there must be an easy way to do that.)Bottom line, I'm glad I finally got up the courage to work with this teleprompter. I think Neewer has made a good entry level device that should serve my needs just fine.

This teleprompter is an excellent choice for anyone looking to elevate their content creation setup. It comes with a sturdy hard case, making it easy to transport and store, and the build quality is impressive, with Neewer really stepping up their game here. Setup was simple, and I was able to use an external monitor for an HDMI-out mirrored display, which made it easy for the subject to see themselves while looking into the camera. The reflective glass is clear and doesn’t significantly affect the exposure, with only a slight difference that’s hardly noticeable. The prompter is large, making it very easy to read even from a considerable distance, and the size is perfect for larger setups like a home studio. While it may be a bit big for streamers, it’s a great alternative to more expensive options if you already have a tablet or monitor. One thing I really appreciated was how easy it was to adjust everything, from the mounting system to the prompter’s angle. The Arca mount and rod system made it feel incredibly stable, even with my heavier camera setup. The iPad Pro 12.9 fits perfectly, and the reflection is crisp and readable without having to max out the brightness, saving on battery life. The only small downside is the hood material, which is a bit shinier than I’d like, but it hasn’t caused any major issues during use. For the price, this is still an amazing deal, especially since it comes with a hard case, which is rare in this price range.Overall, this teleprompter is a fantastic value for content creators, especially those working with social media or in smaller studios. It’s well-built, performs flawlessly, and will likely pay for itself with just a few projects. Highly recommended!

First off, this prompter works great. I already have the software I use, so I just needed the actual mechanical prompter. This thing is built like a beast. I love that it sits on rods with an Arca mount. It holds my A7RV with a 35mm lens just fine. Everything is fully adjustable to fit your needs. Using my iPad Pro 12.9 works perfectly, and the mount holds it securely with no worries of it falling. The screen reads extremely clear, and on camera, I get no glare. When you’re done with it, it folds away nicely into its own carrying case—another huge plus. Ive gotten tons of compliments from clients. The prompter itself is worth the price and will pay for itself quickly.

Another fine example of Neewer stepping up their game. The build quality here is really nice, it works great and is easy to adjust...and that screen has a lot of real estate that is easy to read even from a considerable distance (far more than I have available in my tiny studio). The one area of opportunity that was a bit of a disappointment to me is the hood itself. I am surprised that at this price point the hood is a relatively highly reflective and shiny polyester material when other things...like the mini matte box, are thoughtfully designed with matte velvety material that does a far better job at controlling ambient and scattered light. That being said...in practice this works just great. I won't review the app here, as that does feel like it needs a stand alone review all its own, I will say the screen does a really great job reflecting most of the light making it super easy to read without having to put your tablet at the highest brightness like you have to do with others. The amount I had to turn up my lights was relatively small, and totally acceptable...I wasn't even using my studio lights at full strength anyways, and still don't...very important when you have a small space that heats up quick. Paired with my silent Neewer studio light...the whole setup is a dream to use for individual/independent content creators. I imagine that if you are full professional level, you are definitely going to want to step up from this...but for those of us who live and work in the social media realm...this is a no-brainer. Just get it, you'll be happy with it. I left off that one star only because I really want a better material for the hood, but more because it seems like such an odd thing to overlook at this price point. Also: a nice and easy to see/use remote control, and comes with a hard case. And while the hard case is definitely on the cheaper end of build quality, it's also the only teleprompter in the budget range that I've tried that comes with a hard case at all...so that is very much appreciated. I tend to only use gear like this in my studio, so I only use the case for storage, and for that it's just fine.Love it, and recommend it for light use content creators.

This is a very nicely put together teleprompter that comes with a hard case. It was pretty easy to setup and I used an external monitor on it to do a hdmi out mirror display of the subject so they can see themselves like a mirror to look at the camera. The reflective glass is super clear and doesn't really mess much with the exposure of the camera (there's a slight cast/exposure difference, but pretty minor). As long as you have the proper mounts, the whole kit is really easy to work with and no nonsense. It's a little unwieldly for anything but a mounted setup, but for anyone wanting to do a home studio it would work really well on a rolling c-stand and a camera on it.The prompter is pretty easy to read, as the size is pretty awesome. It is a little large so for streamers you will need to compensate for it, but I think it's a good alternative to the Elgato teleprompter, etc if you already have a tablet or monitor you can use in it's place.
