I work in video production, and do some personal projects on the side for fun. This is for my personal stash of equipment, so it's not like I'll be shooting on Mount Everest with those... With that said, these stands are miles ahead of any usual black tripod stands that are bundled with LED panels and the likes. These are solid, sturdy and smooth.Since the stands are spring loaded, never put your face above the stand when unlocking (if they were loaded with equipment when locked down, the spring could push the stands up very fast).Definitely recommended for semi-pro/home video shoots. Not so great value when purchased at full price though, wait until they are discounted.

I wish I would have known about these stands earlier.All stands should be made like this.It's light weight and sturdy. The footpri t is large so I feel good about heavier lights sitting at the top. These even have spring cushion on the poles. A+ on this so far.

As a Wedding and portrait photographer, I have used may light stands over the years and on a windy day they are forever blowing over, but not this one! It is made from really sturdy stainless steel and the joints are really solid. There are internal springs to stop anything getting damaged or you accidentally trapping your hand if you loosen it to quick. The tripod head is really versatile and you can use it to mount your Speedlight/Softbox horizontally or vertically with either a 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch head . The tripod legs have a really wide spread, so even if it is blowing a gale outside it won't knock this bad boy over! Even though it is a heavy duty light stand, it is really easy to transport when packed down and fits in the boot of my car easily. This is now my go to light stand for Weddings and I always have it in the boot of my car. I also use it to hold my backgrounds for head shot photography, as some of them are really heavy and this won't topple over like my old lightweight aluminium ones.
