NEEWER 2400mAh EN-EL15c Replacement Camera Battery for Nikon Zf Z8 Z7 II Z6 II Z5

After trying some other brands, I was starting to give up hope that I would find a 3rd party battery for the Nikon ZF -but I am happy to report this battery works as it should, on firmware version 1.2.1.I appreciate how much love and attention Neewer is giving the Nikon ZF community, with all their grip models and these batteries. Please keep it up!

To the point: I like this battery. I wish I had bought more for my current trip. The convenience of just using a standard USB-C charge cable to recharge is awesome. I would rather leave my Nikon MH-25a battery charger at home.Context: I travel frequently. Hauling camera gear in my 4Runner is not much of a problem. But when traveling by air, I have to make choices about what equipment I bring with me. And if I am traveling internationally it is major concern because most countries limit carry-on weight to 7 kg (some allow purchasing an additional 7 kg of carry-on weight).I bought the Neewer rechargeable Nikon battery five month ago. I am using it on my current 5.5 month trip to Asia. I have use this battery in my Nikon D810. This review is based on when the Neewer EN-EL15c battery provides primary camera power (so my MB-D12 with EN-EL18c is not connected).Because I am in the Philippines and Thailand, the temperature never gets cold. It might dip into the mid-70 (F) at night. But mostly it is in the 80s or 90s (degrees F). So I cannot provide feedback on cold weather operation.For my current usage the battery performs as you would hope. On days I am out doing photography I can take up to 1000 photos. I use an external GPS day/time/location stamp device that is connected to my camera. In a full day of usage I have never dropped more than one or two bars on the D810 battery indicator.I have not tried to run out the battery. Most every night when I return to my hotel room I recharge all my batteries.For me, the absolute BEST quality of this battery is the embedded USB-C connection to charge. I have purposely converted everything I can to a standard USB-C charging capability. I have purchased adapters that allow me to minimize all the different charging capability.I wish I would have used this battery before my current trip. I bought it on a whim and thought I would try it out. If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought two more of this battery and left my Nikon batteries and Nikon charger back in the USA.I have included a photo of my hard-shell camera case -- you might think that a small Nikon charger is not important. But I can tell you that I have many filters for my different lens and I would rather put some of them inside the case but they will not fit. It is my choice to bring the lens I have brought. So my penalty is to carry filters in another bag.If I could leave my Nikon MH-25a battery (EN-EL15c) charger at home it would give me some space for filters. It would be nice if some company also made a similar EN-EL18c USB-C rechargeable battery so I could then leave that rather large battery recharger at home.

Excellent Neewer EN-EL15 battery! Fits my Nikon DSLR perfectly and hold a charge well. I appreciate the USB-C port on the back of the battery as it gives me a lot more options for recharging quickly. No more need for a dedicated Nikon charger in my bag. The 2400 mAh power rating is 17% larger than my previous battery meaning I now have a longer working time and flash power.Bottom Line: No downside to this battery, more powerful and convenient than a standard battery. Protected against overcharges, short circuits, voltage spikes and I now have multiple ways to charge it including portable power banks.
