I was looking for something lightweight that I could take with me when traveling to South America and this one exceeded my expectations. It extends all the way to 81 inches, which is taller than I am, so I can mount my Sony camera or a flash unit on top without any issue. It is impressively light and folds down small enough to carry around without any hassle, and extending and retracting it on the go is quick and easy. Just keep in mind this is not meant for heavy gear, so if you have a large heavy camera body you may want something sturdier. For travel photography and light setups though, this thing is fantastic. Five stars.

I am writing to share my feedback regarding the NEEWER Basics Photography Light Stand that I recently acquired. Overall, I am very impressed with the build quality and finish of the product; it is much better made than I initially anticipated, with all components fitting together seamlessly. The stand is exceptionally functional, featuring an aluminum construction with rubber-coated feet and a distinctive anodized finish. I particularly appreciate the design of the base, which allows the tripod legs to be deployed with a simple tap, and the twist-lock mechanism that makes adjusting the height very straightforward. While it does flex slightly when fully extended in mild outdoor wind, it remains a steady and effective tripod for smaller items. While flexing, it still maintains well it's stability to the ground. Although it may not be suitable for a DSLR with a long lens, the 180-degree pan and tilt head provides great flexibility for many other applications. The height is perhaps its best feature. At 81 inches, it far exceeds the reach of the standard tripods I have used in the past. I have found it specifically useful as a laser level holder, particularly when mounting televisions, and its ability to collapse to the size of a large selfie stick makes it easy to transport and also use above crowds.I have attached some pictures of the stand in use to provide more context on its versatility. The material appears to be all aluminum, which is light weight and durable. Overall, it is of great value for your money!

This light stand is exactly what I needed. It goes up really high, 81 inches, which is great for getting light where I want it. The metal build feels strong but it is still light enough to carry around without any trouble. Setting it up takes just a second. You loosen the locks, pull the sections up, and tighten them back. Everything stays right where you put it. No wobbling or sliding down. It works perfectly for my continuous lights and even my small camera. The top has a standard 1/4 inch screw, so it fits all my gear. I have used it mainly with my Neewer HB60B key light but you can out any smaller continuis light on it and the base is wide enough to add a softbox. Absolutely perfect for an on the go portrait shoot. I added a quick release. For the price, this stand does everything you would hope. It is simple, reliable, and gets the job done without any extra nonsense. If you need a basic stand that just works, this is a great choice.

The stand is a lot more stable than I thought it would be. It's a little heavier than I expected but the legs also spread out very wide and so far they seem reliable. It packs up very small and is great for running around and shooting. I almost never use bare flash so it is used mainly with a 23" Octa. With a dedicated light I think that does push the limit of the bendy aluminum at full height.

This is a light stand that collapses into a selfie stick size. I wasn’t expecting this to be as solid as it is, when collapsed down to its base form, it may be used as a selfie stick or just enable shooting over a crowd. When opened up, the tripod base keeps it stable while the main shaft extends up to a massive 81” tall. This will bring it up to approximately eye-level, for interviews, direct reporting or convenient filming. The entire assembly is crafted from aluminum, with rubber-coated feet. Some of it is anodized in a color to differentiate it from your friends’ stands. Also, the legs release from their locked in position with a push button on the very bottom.I like this much more than I thought I would and recommend it.

This camera Stand is a very sturdy and solid one. One of the first things I noticed right away is that this is a very heavy pole. That weight actually works in its favor. When taking still shots you want your lighting to stay exactly where you place it, and this stand does that very well. It stays put and feels very stable.I have had other stands in the past that were much lighter. While they were easier to carry around, they would easily tip over or get blown around when used outside. That can be frustrating when you are trying to set up a shot. The upside to this heavier stand is that it feels dependable and secure once it is set up. The downside is that lugging it around from place to place could become a bit of a chore.I am giving this a 4 star review primarily because of the weight of the item. For my use this will not be a major issue because I will mostly be using it for still or fixed shots where the stand stays in place. I will not be carrying it around all day like you might at an amusement park or other large venue.Overall this is a strong and reliable stand that works well if stability is more important than portability.
