NEEWER TL97C RGB Magnetic Handheld Light Stick

This portable light is made of sturdy plastics with a responsive button design and a solid feel. Its lightweight and compact build makes it highly portable. It has a few mounting options including 1/4" screw threads and a magnetic mount. The small LED screen is helpful, displaying modes, battery percentage, and color temperature.

The light offers a full RGB color range as well as warm and cool whites covering roughly 2500K - 8500K. There are also a few special effect modes, like flashing lights and changing colours. The built-in 2500mAh battery gives a little under two hours of use.

The light is small (about 4 inches) and is perfect for throwing on a shelf and providing a splash of colour on an object or wall. This light will not be strong enough to light a whole scene, but that is not its purpose.

You may want to pair the light with the NEEWER app to provide easy control without having to press the buttons on the light.

This is a handy little light to have for adding a small amount of light needed in a scene. I love the look of the light. It's 10.7 cm long and 4 cm at its widest part. Theres two 1/4 inch mounting points, one on each end of the light. Like described, its also magnetic. It's not the strongest hold, so I wouldn't attach it magnetically to anything that will be bumped around, but in a static location the hold is just fine. It charges via USB-C. The indicator for power is 3 lines, so that doesn't really give you an accurate representation of how much power is left in the light. To test the light, I turned it on set to a temp of 5600K and an intensity of 100% with 3 bars until it shut off, it lasted 2 hours. The last bar disappeared and the light remained lit for 20 minutes.

For the technical details, its temperature range goes from 2500K to 8500K. Brightness intensity from 0 to 100. And Green/Magenta correction from -50 to 50.

Now for something that I don't quite like about the light. To change anything about the light on the device itself, you need to repeatedly press the buttons. I can't just press and hold the up or down arrow for the intensity to increase or decrease, same for adjusting the temperature of the light. You have to press the button one at a time for the value to change, so to go from 0 to 100 you'd have to click 100 times. However, if you download the app, then its much easier to control.. The downside, if you use multiple brands of lights then you'd need multiple apps to control each light individually... So that is to consider when purchasing this light, how well it fits into your existing ecosystem.

I give it 4 stars due to the one press at a time button..

This little light wand is insanely compact. I was a bit surprised in it's form factor since it looked bigger in the product photos. That's not a bad thing as I can easily slip it into my pocket.

It's important to highlight the audience that this light is intended to. It may be fun to work with, and certainly geared toward content creator, but honestly, it won't make my gear list for a pro shoot due to need to replicate color accuracy across shots, which I think this light lacks. Yet, it packs a powerful punch with vibrant colors and adjustable settings. The app lis a must to take advantage of all its features, and makes it super convenient for filming a selfie video or setting the mood for a party. The battery life is very good, and the magnetic attachment is allows creative angles. Honestly, it was fun to work with this light, and it certainly sparked so many new ideas!

Solid little light. Fits in pretty much any bag, and the output is surprisingly strong. Also, can't go wrong for the price.

I've transitioned away from corded light sources for the conveniance , and the small-format Neewer wireless lights with app control have exceeded every expectation for functionality and ease of use.I've been using the 23 cm light stick and the selfie clip light for a few months and it's been such a positive experience, I'm coming back for the 10 cm light stick too.I'm finding there's a learning curve for a total amateur like me in terms of using the app, but I expected this going in, and see it as a worthwhile investment of time and effort to gain competency using interesting tools. I use VoiceOver on my iPhone to read small text, and I'm really happy with how well that part works. with the Neewer app. I'm happy to work in an ecosystem.The Colour Picker ability also impresses me; I can key into the colours of a chroma screen if I wanted to, or pick colours off of a small Pantone swatches card set. I love working with tints in my work, if that's you then you'll love this too. : :)Last but DEFINITELY not least is how practical this light is. The magnet holds reliably, and the screw mounts on each end let you attach it securely to a stand. it can be used as the world's fanciest and most overpowered task light in even the most crowded and cramped storage area. When I drop stuff on the floor, this light has become my go-to and speeds up the recovery process tenfold.. I have a couple of metal rolling carts from the craft store and I love I can rely on the magnet keeping it within easy reach and never setting things on it and losing it.This light is super-practical, consistent, reliable, versatile, and really user-friendly. Personally it has sparked my creativity to play with the Fireworks with Sparkle effect, music FX, and colour shifting. I had a totally convincing solo dance party in the kitchen on Hallowe'en , because my light stick popped onto the side of the fridge with no fears of it being knocked off or falling. If you think you might like this light, be aware you could easily love it if you commit to using it. Mine are charged all the time, I keep them on hand during power outages, along with a high-capacity power bank. I can't recommend this series of lights enough.

Neewer's photography products never cease to amaze me. Their TL97C magnetic handheld light with full wireless APP control is mind blowing. I really like the endless number of scenes & different colour temperatures I can customize & change from a distance. Its magnetic base means I can install it anywhere to add accent lighting to a studio set. I like that both ends of Neewer's TL97C magnetic light are fitted with 1/4 inch threads for more mounting options. The TL97C is a must have for the creative videographer like myself who wants to excel in their field.

I bought 4 of them to replace the one I got from Ulanzi, because they have no App Control and both the warm white and cool white LEDs are awfully Magenta. Even the G/M correction function on the Neewer TL97C isn’t strong enough to add enough magenta to match them!!! So i’ll be using the Ulanzis only for RGB.Neewer TL97CPros :- Neewer TL97C are incredibly neutral all the way from 2500K to 7500K, with excellent color rendition.- G/M correction function (a must have in a RGBWW light).- Excellent App control- 17 excellent and editable FX- No flickering- Not much more expensive than the cheaper alternatives that doesn’t have app control and G/M correction.Cons :- The magnets on both size aren’t strong enough to securely attach multiple lights together (unless they’re also attach to a metal surface from the back, like on my picture), and the recommended optionnal 1/4-20 screws won’t work since they will randomly align the lights.. completely useless, so save your money and skip the screws..I strongly recommend the 8$ Neewer softbox/grid that will take 2 tubes (attached with magnets is secure enough in that case). The diffusion sheet is pretty much useless and only cuts the light output for no reason.. but the grid is amazing is incredibly useful!

I was not sure if this item would be useful or not as I was planning a party for my nephew & since he is a very talented musician, I thought this was something he might want to use, & he absoltly loved everything that came with it. There are so many great things to admire & to love. First off, the colors are fantasic. 0Second, there are 17 light scenes to use with various online websites.Third, it has a magnentic light wand is so veryFour, I love that it has rechargeable batteries which saves a lot of time & money.I would recommend it

Absolutely stellar light that can be used in so many ways. They advertise for video and photography uses, which I'm sure it would be great for, I have used it at work, in my office, and camping. It's rechargeable and lasts pretty good (about an hour and half of constant use), and the magnetic sides and screw holes on either end for selfie sticks or tripods this little guy is very versatile. With a wide range of light from white, warm, and 24 RGBS, all that brighten and dim, coupled with the wireless control of an app on your phone (or physical buttons on the unit) getting the exact lighting you want is easy. Awesome little light, so many uses for it! It is solidly built as well.

This is probably the most versatile hand held light ever! Massively bright (if needed) and intense colors for the size with great battery life. What is also great about this you can control most of the settings from the light itself with the aid of a small screen. Using the app will give you complete control over this light and that is not the best part...It has a color source match and a color picker built in using the phone's camera. Match the white balance or any specific color. How cool is that, this is in my camera bag as a permanent addition. As I said I wish I could give this 6 stars!

This handheld light wand is really portable and easy to use: it mounts nicely to a gorillapod and the effects that it can do is really good: the scenes work exceptionally well and producing a cinematic look. It's lightweight and sturdy enough that I could easily fit it in my bag without feeling like it was a hassle.

If I have this light mounted high up on a light stand, I like that this light can be controlled via the Neewer App; especially, if I am configuring a variety of modes and settings, the remote app control is way faster at navigating than manually using the buttons on the light. I had no trouble with connectivity and adding the light into the Neewer app on my smartphone.Construction wise, I feel that the plastic enclosure is acceptably rigid and strikes a nice balance of portability without being cumbersome to carry; I love the double 1/4-inch threaded mounting points which lets me stack on more accessories and have this light easily integrated into my existing setups. The internal magnets did work fairly well on flat iron-based metal surfaces.It's nice that the LEDs are evenly lit and diffused; I did not see any hotspots and the brightness is good for such a tiny unit. As for charging the light, I believe it is straightforward and I like that the LED screen shows a progress meteAs for the size, I believe the range of this light is perfect for close up captures, macro photographs and portraits; for darker evenings and open areas, I would prefer to use a light with a larger output and greater area of diffusion. From a distance, the lightning and paparazzi modes work fine for adding subtle flashes of light for videos.

*** The good 👍 ***✅ The form factor is unusually small for the power it packs. So powerful that I was tempted to disassemble the front cover to see what kind of LED is inside this lamp. You can see in my video how my camera keeps on adjusting the exposure to deal with the very strong light that's the default setting for everything.✅ The colours are very clean, there's no bleed, and be it from the manual settings or the app, the fine-tuning is flawless.✅ In the manual, they managed to fit a real treasure trove of custom settings on a few pages. I recommend either keeping the focus on the page with the settings number ranging from 1 Lightning to 17 Party. This page holds everything useful to get up quickly with 80% of the features listed there. Otherwise, the Bluetooth connection provides visual control that will make changing even quicker. But I will require my smartphone to perform the mods. And I usually keep my smartphone to film and photos from different angles to add to my final products. I guess it's up to you.*** Additional Comments ***👉 Adding to all of the above is the fact that there are 1/4 screw sockets at both ends and what I get is a light that's both powerful and versatile.
