NEEWER BASICS GC30C 30W RGB Handheld Inflatable LED Fill Light

This is an awesome tool and I love that it's so portable and lightweight. I shoot on analog film so really need lots of light entering my shots. Here are some film photos I took with this light at blue hour at 800ISO box speed (no pushing). Incredible output. I liked it do much I just purchased a second one.

Over the years lighting my video and photo endeavours has been very expensive but lately solutions like this 30w handheld inflatable tube light are everywhere. Although this one quite impressive.Super bright if needed. Folds away to almost nothing - to the point you could almost fit it in your pocket, but once inflated they are quite substantial. Quick and easy to use, inflate and deflate. You can set your light temperature. You can mount them. Creative lighting effect settings are super cool.Really great and simple light to have in your lighting kit.

This novelty inflatable light arrives deflated in packed into a box with inflation pump and instructions.The light once inflated measures 88 cm long and is made of thick rubber plastic and so feels quite durable and not something that would break easily.On the back of the light are controls for switching it on plus you are able to change its brightness and effects of the light. On maximum brightness the light is very bright.This light is ideal for video editing and casting shots.I really feel the one thing that this light could be used for is at sea as an emergency light on a boat or even attached to your light jacket uninflated as when inflated in the sea would be incredibly helpful for located someone as it is so bright.Overall this is a well made and potentially very useful inflatable light for any situation you can think of.

The instruction in the box DO NOT tell you how to work this light, the app currently when used only goes to the list of instructions languages but did not go further for me.NOTE: In order to work the colors and functions, when the light is on, double click the power screen and the RGB menu will come up. The light mode on power off and on remains at the light light mode used (big plus).The ability to pack such a bright and light weight lighting option is pretty smart. I have shoots where the lighting just needs a minor adjustment and the fact I can bring this along in the camera case is pretty amazing.A couple things:The light is very very light weight, so be aware in wind, it does move easily.At the lower levels of light % the bulbs are closer to the outside at the control area, so the bottom 10" seems slightly brighter if your using this for some up close lighting.The instructions are not very clear, but it is simple enough once you figure it out.Setup to pump it up takes about 45 seconds, take down is 5-10 seconds. Again - very ideal.

I am very impressed with this light as it works so well. First off, the unique design of this light is incredible, it has such a small footprint when not required and then inflates into a light that is 34 inch long with 3,000 lumens. Speaking of inflating, the inflate mechanism works very nicely. A small bellow type ball fits onto the light, and by squeezing the bellow, the light inflates. It takes me 60 squeezes to get a very firm light and that takes around 50 seconds in total. Collapsing the light is even easier, simply press the button to release the air and roll the light up to get the air out - this takes about 15 seconds. The LCD display on the side of the light is a super interface which is easy to see and read. The display shows battery percentage, Mode, Light Brightness and Temperature. The power button has multiple functions and I recommend downloading the full manual to enjoy all of the functionality of the light. The display has an auto shutoff if no buttons are pressed for 1 minute.This light is super bright and the brightness can be increased by 1% from 0 to 100%. The temperature is also adjustable and ranges from 2700 to 6500K and is adjustable at 100K increments. The light comes with 17 built-in modes that are laid out in the full manual and they are cool to play with. As for the RGB function, this light will produce any colour in the RGB spectrum. The light can be attached to the tripod via a small magnetic plate or it can be hung using one of three different loops along the back side or top of the light.The light is powered by a built-in battery and it charges at 30 watts. Charging the battery from depleted to 100% takes 1 hour and 45 minutes with a 30 watt wall charger. Using a 65W wall charger does not charge the light any faster, in fact the time was the same. This light also works while being charged so I'll never be left without it. Runtime on this light with the brightness at 100% brightness and the temperature at 6500K from fully charged to lights out was 72 minutes. At 5% the light dropped the brightness to 50% so I turned it back up to 100%. At 1% the brightness was again dropped to 50% so I turned it back up but 2 seconds later, it was back at 50%. I was not able to get 100% brightness for more than 2 seconds at the 1% marker. I also tested this light to see if my 7 power banks would charge it and only 3 of them would work with the light - not sure why. The light stays inflated very well, I inflated it and let it sit for 48 hours and it was still horizontal on the tripod so that is excellent. If it did lose some air, a few squeezes of the bellow brings the light back to full firmness.

I have many lights for when I film and take photos and this is the coolest I have. It’s super convenient for transportation because it is so small when deflated. It is easy to inflate and it is very bright that surprised me. The product looks very sharp and well executed. Having a portable light that is so light, that can be suspended or using the strong magnet to place where you have metal or use the magnetic bracket to put on top of your camera is so convenient. This opens up many creative opportunities a great addition to my light gear. So yes, I can recommend it.

I have several similar lights from another manufacturer, and I like this one a lot better. The biggest two features that distinguish this light are the battery and the digital controls.The battery is a great feature. The other lights I have that are similar to this don't have batteries, and they didn't run well off power banks, so this is a huge improvement for me in terms of capability.The digital controls work well, and they give me a LOT more control in light level than other similar lights. They go from 0-100, so if I want a really low light (nice for long exposures), it's really easy to do. I think my other lights only have 4 or so settings. There's also a way to jump to 25, 50, 75, and 100% quickly. My one gripe with the control is that it doesn't remember my last light setting.The magnets are very strong and placed in good locations, and there are several loops that you can hang it from. The battery adds a little bulk to it, but it's very compact when folded up, so still really easy to carry.The inflation tool is a nice touch. The other brand of lights I bought don't come with a tool, and it's gross having to blow into them to inflate them, even after cleaning them each time. The included tool works well - just make sure not to block the intake hole (see video for details). Definitely sanitary!

VERY GOOD PRODUCT

I’ve been doing some more video work and wanted to have lighting that fits what I’m doing. This one is great for that!

It packs small, so it doesn’t take up much space. But once you inflate it using the air bulb/pump (ok, I used my mouth) it puts out some serious light. And what’s more is that you can adjust it to the temperature you want and the level of brightness you need. With the light temperature, you can even tell what it is because the little display tells you! That makes it so much easier to meter off of. The light comes with a couple loops so that you can hang the light on an area, or you can use the included magnetic bracket to mount it.

My only complaint - and it’s a minor one - is that the bulb doesn’t seem to do a great job inflating the light. It’s slow and doesn’t seem to work well for me. I found it easier to just blow into the valve and inflate it, but I do realize that it could potentially just be introducing moisture that could go funky in the light, so I probably will figure out a better method. But overall, a great light!

the price point of a light like this is approaching more premium territory and it is missing Bluetooth capabilities compared to many other light options. but this is pretty good in other aspects, multiple mounting options and pretty good power ratings as well.

this can work as anything from background lighting to additional main lights. I think this would be an even more compelling option when on a discount.
