NEEWER ST200B 200cm Photography Light Stand

Like every other Neewer product I own, this light stand is a good value for the price. It's not something I would put a heavy strobe on, but that's now what it's designed for. I used it with a Godox AD 200 Pro and it felt very steady and I wasn't worried about it. The stand is lightweight and expands and contracts easily. It comes with a case and a small ball head with a 1/4 screw on it, but the ball head is not high quality and I wouldn't use it for anything heavier than a cell phone. Overall I'm quite happy with this stand and I expect to use it for many years in the future.

This NEEWER light stand features lightweight aluminum column sections with sturdy plastic extension locks that open and close easily and lock the column securely. It is topped with a very nice removeable accessory ball head. I like the red indicator on the ball head that conveniently marks the slot where the head tilts for vertical orientation. Removing the ball head reveals a standard 5/8” “baby” mount that is topped with a ¼-20 threaded stud. The legs are made of u-channel steel. A plastic rotating collar releases and locks the legs in folded or extended positions. The legs and leg braces are assembled with riveted sleeves. These work fine, but are not as strong and durable as the bolts and nuts used on stands made for heavier use. This is not so much of a problem as an indicator of the level of work the stand is designed for. You can open and lock the legs partway to minimize the footprint of the stand when you don’t need much height. The maximum leg spread diameter is 30”. Minimum height of the stand with maximum leg spread is 28”. Maximum height when fully extended is 80-1/2” - including the ball head. Nice rubber feet are attached to the ends of the legs for gripping and to protect floors. These do not pull off easily, so they won’t be prone to getting lost. The stand weighs just over 2 pounds and is 25” in length when fully collapsed. The included bag is a simple sleeve made of nylon fabric with a draw-string closure. Since this is a lightweight stand, you likewise want to limit how much weight you mount on it. The item description rates it at 10 pounds and that seems about right - if it is kept level and not exposed to wind. This stand will work fine for small flash units and similar accessories.This is a good lightweight light stand.

Excellent, stable light stand for compact travel needs. Has more than enough adjustment capability and feels quite sturdy when extended despite how svelte it is. If windy, you should still use a sandbag or other ballast to keep it steady and it won't move at all. It comes with a carry case for transporting and storage.

In my case, many in different size and weight. This time I needed a smallish tripod yet mich bigger than Manfrotto. I have good experiences with Neewer products so I got this over similar items. It is lightweight and comes with a drawstring bag to store and lug it. Maybe because it is lightweight, its base, when fully extended, takes up a bigger space than I would have liked. It comes with a removable ball head. The length is adjustable with flip locks that I much prefer than the twist locks for quick turnaround. I like it and ever since I got it, it is next to my desk.

I ordered this NEEWER Photography Light Stand 1.8-6.6ft/56-200cm with Ball Head to replace and older light stand that was just to thin to use. Now this light stand is built more nicely and even extends higher then the other one. It has a nice wide foot print, and as an added bonus. It alo came with a 1/4 ball head, as well as a nice carrying case for it. I will be using this NEEWER Photography Light Stand 1.8-6.6ft/56-200cm with Ball Head for my new NEEWER CM150B led video light
