Description

  • 9.8ft Air Cushioned Light Stand- With upgraded air cushion design, sturdy metal build, the 9.8ft height adjustable light stand provides exceptionally stable support for your photography devices. Compared with a traditional spring-loaded stand, the air-cushioned light stand protects your equipment from abrupt drops, minimizes shakes, and avoids finger pinches when adjusting stand height. Max vertical load capacity: 11lb/5kg
  • 5.1ft Extendable Boom Arm- The stand comes with a 35"/89cm to 61"/155cm extendable boom arm. Connect the arm to the stand via the middle joint, then freely swivel and tilt the arm for different angles. Secure with separate tilt, pan, and arm lock knobs. One end of the arm features a comfortable cushioned grip while the other end has a stainless steel 1/4" threaded screw to connect other devices. Max horizontal load capacity: 11lb/5kg
  • Extra Stability with Counterweight and Sandbag- The included 1KG counterweight and sandbag help add extra stability when needed. Place them on the tripod legs to improve overall stand stability and prevent it from tipping over, or hang them on one end of the arm with the included metal hook to balance the boom arm when holding heavy objects. Note: the sandbag comes empty
  • Simple Height and Arm Length Adjustment- Easily adjust stand height by extending the 4-section telescopic column from 42"/106cm to 9.8'/3m and secure it at your desired height with the locking knobs. The two-section telescopic boom arm ranges from 35"/89cm to 61"/155cm in length. With a collapsible design and rubber padded feet, the stand is easy to carry and won’t scratch the floor, well suited for both outdoor and indoor shooting
  • Multiple Mounting Options with 1/4” to 3/8” Screw Adapter- The light stand features double ended, 1/4” to 3/8” reversible screw adapter on the top, compatible with a wide range of photography devices, including DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras, ring lights, LED panel lights, and microphones

This air-cushioned light stand has proven to be an excellent choice for my filmmaking projects, offering great functionality at an affordable price. The air-cushioning mechanism is a key feature, ensuring a smooth and controlled descent when adjusting the height or lowering the light, which prevents any sudden drops that could damage your gear. This added safety is invaluable, especially when using delicate or expensive equipment. The height adjustment is easy to operate, and the stand can be set at a variety of positions, making it versatile for different shooting setups. The locking mechanisms are secure, and the stand holds heavier lights and modifiers without wobbling, providing stability throughout the shoot. The included sandbag, though empty, is a practical feature that can be filled with sand or other weight materials to further stabilize the stand, particularly when it’s extended to its maximum height. In terms of build quality, the stand is lightweight for portability but strong enough to support heavier gear. It’s easy to transport, set up, and adjust, making it a great option for both on-location and studio shoots. For the price, this stand offers fantastic value. With the added air-cushioning, solid build, and stability features like the sandbag, it provides a professional level of functionality at a very reasonable cost. If you’re looking for a reliable and versatile light stand without breaking the bank, this is a great choice that delivers on both quality and performance.

Item seems good quality. Arrived fast. Once set up, they seemed quite sturdy. There is slight bit of bounce when you pull on it, but I think this is probably inevitable considering the height/length. Everything seems quite solid, composed of metal, so I don't feel concerned for the stability of everything. Good product.

I'm impressed by the quality. The stand is sturdy and doesn't shake or wobble, even with a CB60B light extended to the end.I hadn't expected that the stand included a solid (removable) counter weight; this was a nice surprise as it makes the sandbag optional depending on the weight of the attachments. The telescopic arms are dampened, so when lowering them there's no risk of damage by retracting them too quickly. The 1/4" screw can be removed and installed in three orientations, which makes this arm especially versatile.

I purchased this NEEWER AIR CUSHIONED lightstand to complement my NEEWER Pro Spring Loaded Heavy Duty Photo Studio Light Stand for my home studio set up.The lightstand is much lighter but equally as rigid and strong. The boom attachment allows for great flexibility with lighting set ups and controlling where your lights are placed on the subject.I was a little concerned with the pivot point of the boom arm as this looks to be a weak point however I have tested this with my heavy soft box and light and it is very capable of holding the weight placed upon it. The boom adjustment clamp is very sturdy and allows rotation of the boom arm and then holds it very tightly in place.Unlike the spring loaded lightstand I already had, the air cushion is very smooth and lowers the stand down very easily with any weight that’s already attached for easy height adjustment.I would highly recommend this product for your studio needs.

This light stand is everything you may be looking for to mount your lights. You get the tripod stand, the boom arm, a sandbag, and screw adapters. With this, you're set to mount any type of light regardless of the mounting connector that it uses thanks to the adapters.I mounted Neewer's CB60 RGB continuous video light on it, and it worked wonders. I wanted to get some good lighting for a top-down shot on a table. It's not complicated once you have the right gear, and I can tell you that this is the right gear.Of course, this is only part of the puzzle, and the other is that you'll want to know about how to light your subject, what settings to use on your camera, and what diffuser you may want to use. But what I can say is that it makes the puzzle easier to make in that sense. It makes production go better than I expected. Mind you, I'm a one-person band, so having good gear that's easy to use is critical.

The NEEWER Air Cushioned Aluminum Light Stand is one fine product. It's quite substantial and can certainly carry a heavy load. The boom and included counterweight is much appreciated as is the air cushion design. There's plenty of height as well. I also liked the ergonomic controls that help my arthritic fingers.Although the sturdy NEEWER dwarfs my current light stands, it will collapse to an easily maneuverable state: 42 inches long by 5 inches wide by my measurements - as indicated by the photo - without disassembly. Just about everything you'll need is part of the package, including a cloth bag and the means to attach it to the boom in case you want a place to hang extra counterbalancing weight. Highly recommended.

This light stand, Neewer 9.8ft / 3m air-cushioned and with a boom arm, is a pretty solid stand. The thickness of the telescope elements is what you expect when a light stand is marketed as a heavy duty stand. The locks work smoothly and secure the elements tightly, and the air-cushion feature works as designed.Of course, the boom arm feature is my favorite, and it is quite adjustable -- the arm can be adjusted in a horizontal direction and allows to move the counterweight and sandbag further out for heavier gear at the other end. I installed a regular strobe light with a 32-inch octagon soft box and I got a nice stable result -- the 1kg counterweight is already a very good starting point for adding weight and the sang bag can be packed moderately. The air-cushioning worked nicely with this setup and weight. A max. payload of 11lbs. / 5kg seems very possible provided you balance and counterweight correctly. The quality of this light stand is very good given the balanced price level and having the boom arm lets you create interesting light setups, especially seeing that the max length of 9.8 ft / 3m allows for overhead scenarios.I am very happy with this stand -- it offers a strong and stable, versatile light stand at a good price level.
