Regarding the 16-inch (41 cm) version:As others have commented, a substantial piece of metal. It does not feel thin or tinny at all. The rear Bowens mount is a solid one-piece casting. It seems this type of dish is supposed to emulate the spectral light of the disposable flash bulb era without creating a "hot spot" in the middle. Very cool.Shipped in a thick cardboard box to protect it.
