NEEWER 5 in 1 Photography Foldable Scrim Flag Kit

There's a lot to this kit. If you started to take your photography, especially studio photography, more serious, this is a very good addition.

I use allot of products from this brand in a high-volume, fast-paced episodic series. I was hesitant to purchase this kit because of the folding aspect but was immediately reassured just from feeling the weight of it. This is a SOLID kit. I'm curious to see how the locking mechanism will hold after a couple more months of work but I have high hopes, fabric is good quality and you're able to leave the fabric on the frame and fold it back into the case which makes tear down/ setup times much faster. Will update if anything comes up worth addressing.

I teach filmmaking. This has been super useful in helping my students understand simple lighting principles that are difficult to grasp without going hands on with a basic kit of modifiers like this. I use it on corporate jobs too, mostly for diffusion and neg fill. It's become a central part of my kit.Everything is surprisingly durable. It's not high end by any means but that's obvious, this is mostly noticeable on the fabric used on the silks and nets but honestly they are pretty good and behave as expected. The frames are a really simple and strong design, easy to set up and have a nice weight. I never use the fingers and dots but they're a nice little addition. The bag is quite cheap and basic but it's functional.I wish they sold the fabric flags separately because I'm often finding I need more than one silk but it seems like a waste carrying around extra frames I don't have the correct flags for.

This flag set performs it's purpose well. I found the pieces very sturdy. The 2ft x 3ft set is heavy in its carrying case. About 4 pounds heavier then your average C-Stand. Hire a PA or get a cart if you plan to lug it around :-)

This kit is very well made and includes a good variety of flags.The carry case was a welcomed surprise, often kits like this include basically a throw away case, this one feels sturdy enough to hold up to professional use.I do wish that the poles would lock open just to make setup a little easier, but overall that's a very minor gripe for an excellent kit.

Mostly I do wildlife/nature photography but have begun to try my hand at product photos and portraiture, as of yet my skillset in that part of photography is lagging behind. That being said, it is not for lack of some amazing equipment including this Scrim flag kit (getting lighting right seems as much an art as a science and albeit one I am slowly learning using these scrim flags and some NEEWER lighting mostly). These are easy to set up, use, and takedown and they give very good results. In fact, there are several videos online that give tutorials on how to use scrim flags and for anyone thinking about buying a set, I recommend you take the time to watch those videos as well so you can get a better understanding of what they can do for you. All that aside, I am very impressed by pretty much everything in the NEEWER line that I have tried, and it is quickly becoming one of a handful of go-to vendors whenever I am looking for new gear. I recommend this product and as I said, I recommend if you are just beginning in that part of your photographic journeys that you take the time to watch videos on how to modify lighting and maybe check out some of the books on it as well, but definitely consider this kit or perhaps the one with larger scrim flags.

This collapsible scrim flag kit includes 5 diffusers made of 5 solid metal frames combined with different fabrics and 4 scrims, 2 round scrims and 2 rectangular scrims, which are well-made and of high quality and easy to install.
