  • APP/2.4G/Onboard Control- Use the NEEWER APP for group light control, OTA firmware update, light effect pickup, Music Sync, and other features. The built in 2.4G system offers CH00-99 channels. When multiple lights are set in the same channel within 49ft/15m, you can make synchronized changes by randomly setting any of them (currently available for NEEWER CB100C, CB200B, FS150B, FS150, MS60C, MC60B, MS150B, BH30S, and CB60B). The physical onboard buttons are also easy to use
  • Efficient Overheating Protection- The integrated ultra-silent cooling fan and upgraded heat dissipation system keep the noise level under 28dB within 3.3ft/1m and provide content creators with a silent environment for shooting. The LCD screen displays the real-time temperature of the light body, and the automatic overheating protection can effectively prolong the product’s lifespan
  • Bowens Mount & U-Shaped Bracket- The included standard reflector with internal scale patterns ensures even lighting distribution. The Bowens mount can work with most softboxes, beauty dishes, and snoots. And the umbrella socket can secure a photography umbrella. I am a big fan of the Neewer brand, having purchased flashes and various other odds and ends over the years. They've always delivered in terms of quality, and the overall value they provide versus other brands. The CB300B light did not disappoint. From the moment you open the box, you can see care has gone into the product. Even the case itself is solidly built, provides a lot of protection for the light, and has a few little features that make it more user-friendly such as a solid rubber holder for your name/details tag, and straps to hold the lid up while you're taking out the light. The light itself is phenomenal. It is incredibly powerful at 320W. Note that one of the marketing images states 150,000lux/1m and then the specifications page states 135,000lux/1m so I'm not sure which is accurate. I like that you can easily click the boost mode down to lower the intensity if needed which will also turn the fan off.The controls are really intuitive, and the screen on the back provides easily readible info. Without reading the manual, and just clicking through the buttons you can figure it out pretty easily. For example, with the various lighting effects/scenes such as lightning, paparazzi, explosion, etc, there's little icons of lighting bolts, cameras, or bombs to correspond to each of the settings so you don't need to really remember anything complicated - it's intuitive enough you can deduce what each one is.I love the wheel for adjusting settings as it's easy to scroll back and forth through the various settings such as colour temperature, intensity and scene effects. The display also shows the operating temperature of the light so you can keep an eye out for it getting too hot.You can see in the comparison photo what a difference the 2700K vs 6500K makes in the final photo (Note the poor quality of the photo is not a result of the light, it's my ancient phone's picture quality). The only small issue I had was that I thought the 'warning' stick on cover of the light was a temporary warning only, so I tried to remove the sticker and it left goo all over it. Easily removeable with goo gone, but to me it had appeared to be a temporary sticker not meant to stay on the equipment permanently.Note that the light is quite heavy, and must be powered via the cord, so it's not exactly portable, it's more for studio use.Overall, super high quality light, and another great product from Neewer.

Shooting a music video with this LED studio light turned out phenomenal. The brightness and power of this 320W light were beyond my expectations, giving every scene the perfect glow. Using the app was awesome, allowing me to adjust settings on the fly—super handy for those high and hard-to-reach setups.Although I didn't find much use for the special effects like flickering and fireworks, the ability to control several lights wirelessly was helpful. The Bowens mount was great for quickly changing attachments. It's a bit of a bummer that it's not battery-powered for more flexibility. But wait, how heavy would a battery have to be to juice up this 320W titan! If you're shooting any type of professional video production, this light is an amazing option. It's straightforward to use, especially with the app, and helps in creating professional-looking scenes. Just make sure you're okay with stationary setups or have access to power.

This is now my most powerful continuous light by far. If I want to bring it down to the power of my other lights, there is a novel feature on this called 'Booster' that puts the unit into a low power mode. Everything seems to operate the same either way but the Brightness control's range using the app slider or the back buttons/dial work in the lower 60W so you have finer adjustments possible with Booster off.In practice I usually have the CB300 with Booster ON. However another benefit of Booster OFF is that with the lower output limit, the unit shuts off the fan and can use the heat sinks to silently dissipate heat. The Neewer smartphone app connected easily enough. I just found that for this CB300 it was not that well thought out because when on the screen with touch sliders for Brightness and Color Temperature, there were several extra taps to get into another screen just for the sake of selecting Booster ON/OFF. It would make so much more sense to have that showing on the previous screen - there is lots of room for it. The app allows saving favourite pairs of Brightness & Temperature to recall them later quite quickly.Using only the physical controls I was able to get everything I typically use just by looking at the labels and watching the indicators on the display. I was soon able to keep looking at the camera subject and reach over to feel the buttons and dial to adjust while I kept my concentration on the subject. The main power switch is not on the back. It is tucked on the bottom curve of the main body, offset a little bit to the right of the AC cord connector. There is even a big, bright blue label "POWER >>>>>" wrapping around the can to direct a user to the power switch. Amusing to see for the first time and useful under the circumstances. The metal bracket to mount the CB300 to a stand is large and lengthy. The receiver for a light stand spigot has holes for both vertical and horizontal connection to a spigot. The swivel points are large and the grip is helped by large diameter toothed faces digging into thick rubbery disks. The tightening knob is similarly large diameter so the light is not going to slip and tilt. The release for the Bowens mount reflector is a bright blue slider that operates with very little effort or noise. My variety of Bowens mount items mounted and released with no hitches. The included reflector has a cut out for an umbrella shaft. The body has a metal block where the umbrella shaft would get locked into place with a thumb screw. It's solidly built. The included Neewer carrying case is a piece of work all on its own. The hidden construction as far as I can determine is a semi-rigid wrap around tub of plastic. So the entire well of the case is almost like a camper cooler in effect. The lid also contains a semi rigid panel. There are bulbous feet with this case that seem to give enough clearance that you could put the case down on a wet parking lot and the case itself is not going to touch the water. The CB300 and its essential parts take up all the room inside the case so as big as the case appears, it's dedicated to protecting the light, not for stuffing in other accessories.

This is a very powerful light, and a good price for that amount of light output. It's about the expected size and weight for a large COB LED light, so nothing out of line there. It comes with an excellent silver reflector and a super nice padded kit bag which is always appreciated. It has a useful colour temperature range, though I really wish it adjusted higher than 6500K. If it went to 7500K it could better match the light seen outside at dusk.It has a very quiet fan. I don't do video production so I can't say if it's quiet enough for that but I could barely hear it at all in a quiet room. Definitely the quietest fan I've experienced on one of these lights. The strong yoke brake exceeds the grip of my older 300W COB LEDs and allows larger, heavier light modifiers to be mounted. This yoke brake even held an Aputure F10 10-inch fresnel modifier (with solid glass lens) but had to be torqued quite hard. It's probably not intended for that load! The CRI colour rendition quality is very high and shots of things like fruit and flowers were rendered with very true and vibrant colours. The rear CT indicator is inaccurate. When I selected 5500K and shot my colour checker card I got 5000K for the CT as measured in Adobe Lightroom. I need to do some more reference shots to make a correction chart for myself. The included reflector is efficient and gave the specified light output (135000 Lux at 1 meter). I got identical results with a stock Godox reflector. Mounting an Aputure 10 inch fresnel and adjusting to a 15 degree beam gave me double that intensity at 270000 Lux.The App ...The app can be useful (especially Source Match) but needs more work by Neewer as it has a few bugs and quirks. It's very awkward to set up. I was completely unable to create a cloud account or profile using it. I proceeded without cloud access enabled. The UI is a bit awkward to navigate, but can be figured out by playing around.Controlling the light from my phone is very nice. Two sliders adjust intensity and colour temperature. CT can also be set from known light source references, like Sunlight. The Source Match feature is great. I am able to point the smartphone camera at a scene which measures the colour temperature, then one click sets the CB300B to that CT. That’s super handy! I can quickly set the light to match the ambient room light for fill, etc.It can take forever to reconnect to light when phone waken up. I had to restart the app.

The only negative thing I can tell you about this light is also sort of a positive so it balances out. The light is heavy to move around... if you're planning on using it out and about and will have to lug it around I think it's worth considering how much weight it's going to add to your kit though I doubt the total weight is much different than other lights in the same class, though I have nothing to compare against personally this is the biggest light I have. On the bright side, the thing is built like a tank so that weight isn't for nothing... it honestly feels pretty much indestructible, like you could kick it around and other than getting scuffed up it wouldn't care one bit about being mishandled. I am not a pro and don't have an eye for colour accuracy and things like that but it seems to cast a light that looks like what my brain generally thinks is how things should look under different colour lighting situations and is surprisingly even in light coverage even if you forego any kind of diffuser though the light straight out of the fixture is pretty harsh when using it as direct lighting but I think this is a pretty standard behavior for chip on board lighting. When used directly you get a kind of weird beam pattern.Design wise, it's simple and straight forward... I like that it has an internal power supply so there are no external bricks to worry about (or lose) and easy to set up and power with however long of a lead you might need to get to meet your need. The different locking mechanisms are basic but work fine and everything stays put when tightened. I found the user interface on the back of the light to be straight forward enough to use without having to study the manual. Pairing to the app only takes a second and gives you more control over the light anyway.
