Works well, but best carry an extra battery for event use. Picked up the remote head for the flash unit. Great for off camera shots. Syncs well.

This is a phenomenal speedlite, full stop. Its packed with features, with my favorites being the modeling light, and the ability to use my Neewer QPRO wireless flash trigger to control the light remotely.This kit comes with the speedlite itself, two rechargeable lithium batteries, charger, and storage case.But its an unbelievable flash, especially if you're coming from using the standard squarish speedlights. The round head provides an incredibly even distribution of light that is much easier to control and point at my target.The flash also comes with a modeling light that you can set to come on between flashes. I find its really useful to help me compose my shots when I'm shooting in dimly lit environments. The modeling light can be adjusted with ten different levels of brightness.This speedlite has an ultra fast recycling time, and its capable of doing back to back shots like no other speedlite that I've used.The hot shoe is easy to lock and unlock, and it sits firmly and securely on my camera's multifunction hotshoe.For off camera use, it comes with the standard little plastic base that all speedlites do.Battery life is exceptional, and having an extra battery on hand is a huge plus.I'm amazed by the amount of light and the quality of the light itself that this flash puts out. Seriously impressive.In terms of build quality, this thing is built like a tank and feels super solid.So satisfied with this baby, don't hesitate - you'll love it, too.

Honestly if you havent used a NEEWER or like generic flash and own a DSLR camera than you have been living under a rock. They are leaps and bounds better than any OEM offering from Nikon. And the best part of all is that they are so much more affordable. Literally a quarter of the cost or less. This round head one goes head to head with Nikons top of the line offering (which I also own) and it beats it hands down. Anyhow let me lay out some pros/consPros:-Better quality than nikon offerings-Quicker recycle than my Nikon OEM flash-Round head is a game changer for me and has more nature light dispersion-Price is amazing so so so so much cheaper-Rechargeable and comes with the batteries (my nikon didnt)-Works with wireless shooting-Many more fine tuning settings that are easy to access on the flash itselfCons:-Build quality is good, but still feels a bit cheapAll in all this beats my nikon top of the line offering hands down. I can afford 6 of these for the cost of one of my nikon flashes. I especially like the old school ability to change all settings on the flash at will and not have to change settings on the DSLR body like a lot of the advanced nikon flashes make you do. I will continue to use NEEWER and its generic counterparts exclusively if they keep up with quality stuff like this.

The light was fairly smooth and well diffused and the result looks pretty natural. The screen on the flash is easy to read in dim lighting and it was easy enough to use . The battery life is excellent on a full charge and as a casual photographer, was a complete nonissue.In terms of build quality, it feels well made and solid overall. The hinge feels strong and does not give the impression that it would be a point of failure despite being very flexible in terms of positioning.

I switched over from Canon to Nikon and needed a new speedlight/flash. I had bought the Canon version of this when I was using Canon so I thought I'd stick with what I know and get the Nikon version so that TTL would work. They're not universal so if you don't have the compatible flash everything will work except the TTL function (which was the most important part for me). So, I ordered it. Got in just 2 days and it's perfect. Many settings (TTL, Manual, Multi) and you can vary the flash intensity with a turn of a dial. Very convenient. The head also lifts and rotates to allow you to throw light exactly where you want it regardless of your camera position. It also uses a battery pack that will last about as long as 2 sets of AA batteries. Great solution. Now, I want to say one other thing that's relevant. The one thing I was concerned about was diffusing the light. With my other speedlights, I use my Gary Fong diffuser but it won't fit the round head of this flash. Fortunately, Godox makes a diffuser that works perfectly (Godox AK-R11 Diffuser Dome - $11). It's magnetic and mounts to the front of this head perfectly. I included a photo of the flash with the diffuser installed to show that it fits perfectly. So don't avoid the round head design for lack of diffusion....there is a simple solution.Overall, excellent flash. Has lots to offer at a great price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Exposure is generally accurate; more on that below. Positives otherwise are:- It is feature rich: iTTL, M, M(S1), M(S2), strobe and wireless Master and Slave, LED modelling light, HSS... it has a lot going for it!- The rear LCD panel is well laid out and backlit.- The controls work well. (keep the manual handy!)- The flash head tilts and swivels.- Upgradeable firmware.- Included soft case, charger and mini stand.- Works very well with NEEWER's QPRO-N TTL Wireless Flash Trigger. I currently use two Z1-N flashes with the QPRO-N TTL wireless trigger. Highly recommended!Misses:- No modifiers are included.- Flash consistency is generally very good but exposure misses occur slightly more often than with my Nikon flashes.- This is a big, powerful flash with lots of capacity... but it is rather weighty.Must know:Check NEEWER's support site for firmware updates. There have been several updates available in the months I have used a Z1-N flash.To summarize, this is a versatile, powerful, high capacity flash. It works well. It works well with the NEEWER QPRO-N TTL wireless trigger. NEEWER tech support is there (if you need it). Worth shortlisting. Recommended accordingly.
