NEEWER BASICS FR16 16W Edge-Lit Foldable LED Desk Lamp

It looks greats, it works great, it feels great. Everything about this lamp feels premium. A lot of thought has gone into it and it shows.My house is very dark. It doesn't get enough natural light, and there are not enough lights in the ceiling, so I rely on a lot of lamps to keep things lit up. One area that I really needed one is right by my couch. I have space that's taken up by a small table, but there's not really enough room for a lamp on it. I've tried lamps that have attached to the side of the desk or table, and while they've worked, they've always had a tendency to fall off if I'm not careful. So when I saw this Neewer desk lamp had a flat base that wouldn't interfere with me putting items on the table, such as a laptop or iPad, I decided to get it. I'm also familiar with Neewer from the photography world and figured I'd give them a shot. The result? Frankly, I couldn't be more impressed.First off, it does everything I want it to. The light is perfect. It has multiple color temperature settings, though I personally just leave it on the warmest setting. It also has multiple brightness settings. And there's a timer function so you can leave it on and it will turn off after a set period of time. One of the nice touches is that powering the lamp on results in the light gradually turning on. It's simple, but it feels premium.The other nice touch is that the light is double sided. I wasn't really sure what to expect with that, but basically most of the light is coming from the bottom of the lamp, but there is some that comes from the top, through a diffused panel that has a neat pattern on it. (I've included a picture so you can see what it looks like.)I've seen some people mention using this for content creation and streaming. I don't do that sort of thing, but I did attempt to see what that would look like. Years ago I bought my wife a ring light because she was doing online instruction, and her biggest complaint was that it was too bright to use. This certainly doesn't have that issue, especially on the lower brightness settings. It's a nice diffused light.What I Like: Pretty much everything. The lighting is consistent. The design is thoughtful. It's sturdy, and I don't worry about it tipping over. Again, it feels premium. My wife's reaction when she first saw it was "oooh!", which says a lot.What I Don't Like: It can be a *little* awkward to adjust in terms of angle and height, but not enough to complain about in this review or in real life. My wife's reaction tells me she is going to steal it for her office and I'll have to get another one.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This lamp really puts off some light! On the highest setting, it illuminates a room that is approximately 12 x 14. I'm using it as a computer light and usually set it on the next to lowest setting. Having double sidded light really increases the brightness. I chose this lamp for its streamlined style and adjustment ability. The only thing that really takes up any space is the base, which is flat and unobtrusive. It is very sturdy and the base is weighted enough to keep it completely stable. The bottom of the base is covered in a foam like material (similar to craft foam sheets) so it will not scratch your furniture. I love the ability to change the warmth and brightness of the light. It comes in handy when my eyes are getting tired. All of the controls are on the body of the lamp and they are very touch responsive. The light returns to whatever you had it set on after turning it off and back on. I have no complaints and it's a really good light.

This lamp has really grown on me. Right out of the box, it's a mess of flat metal pieces, and I was worried it would be completely impractical to use. Fortunately, I was wrong. The whole thing swivels and adjusts very easily. All the articulations are smooth and the overall build-quality is high. The LEDs don't get warm, and neither does the charger, even after a few hours of use, which is great. The control panel is easy to navigate and responsive.It's about 28 inches from desk to ring, when the ring is parallel to the desk, which has worked perfectly for routine use. The base is also heavy and has an anti-slip pad, which means the lamp barely moves, even when I bump my desk.The range of brightness and tone has been surprisingly useful. I've included a picture under the warmest tone compared to the coolest to give a good idea as to the available spectrum.

Nice sturdy construction, plenty of color options to create the mood you're looking for, interesting shape that adds functionality while also looking interesting but does not stand out too much. Easy to put together and start using, good price for what you get, nice product.

Liked it so much, I ordered another for my auxiliary desk. Great for a desk lamp, and even better for a webcam light. Highly recommend.

I didn't realize how badly my desk lamp was treating my eyes. My current lamp uses older LEDs, producing a good amount of blue light that I try to avoid. This blue light was causing me unnecessary eye strain during long sessions at my desktop. Then I noticed this desk lamp from NEEWER that was a completely different form of "friendly light"!!! NICE!!!!😃 The fixture is quite attractive and has crisp lines. The simple geometry of this lamp easily blends into any decor. This desk lamp is very sturdy and has a wide, weighted base to prevent it from tipping over. The base is also thoughfuly covered with a foam bottom pad to help prevent scratching your desk or any other platform this lamp is place upon. This fixture can be adjusted to fit your needs with its three articulating joints, two on the arm and one on the head. Unlike other lamps you have tried in the past, this unit's "joints" move smoothly and hold the position you set effortlessly. No need to loosen or tighten tension adjusting screws on this fixture!! No unsightful external springs on the arm of the lamp, that would detract from its beautiful aesthetics.I REALLY LIKE THIS FEATURE!!!😉 It offers the greatest degree of flexibility I've seen in a desk lamp!! The emitted light from this lamp is also amazingly customizable!!! The lamp can be set to 10 different preset dimming settings that adjust the intensity of the light to suit your task at hand. This fixture can also be set to 5 different color modes: 3000K, 3500K, 4400K, 5600K, and 6500K. At the lower end, you will be treated to soft, warm light while at the higest setting the lamp will emit very bright, daylight-white illumination. ULTRA-CONVENIENT!!!!😄 Each color can be adjusted from 10% to 100% capacity with just a push of the soft keys on the lamp arm. More convenience is provided with this lamps memory setting and timer controls. I have used the memory setting to ensure the lamp turns on to the previous light color and intensity, but I haven't used the timer yet. If you were going to use this lamp as a bedside fixture, I can appreciate how the color temperatures, dimming capability, and the timer settings could be extremely useful!!! The lamp head is designed with a double-sided light bar. This is a unique feature that provides light downward to focus on your task while emitting fill light upward to eliminate shadows. While the manufacturer shows how this double-sided light can be used for effective picture taking or beauty-enhansing light during a video conference, I have not used this lamp to achieve either of these capabilities. 🚩I rate this amazingly feature-packed lamp from NEEWER a very solid 10 out of 10 because it is a sturdy unit with a heavy base, it can produce 5 different temperatures of light, it can be dimmed from 10% to 100% of its output, it has a timer and a memory function built in, the unit is pleasing on my eyes, and the ring lighting produced from the head of the lamp is very comfortable on my eyes!!! I recommend this lamp to anyone who might still be using an older style lamp and fighting with blue light as I was. If you are engaged in video conferencing, this lamp, with its fill light, will make you look even more fantastic than you already are!!!😁 I can see the benefits of using this lamp at your bedside with all its customizable features like variable dimming, selective light temperatures, and handy timer. I have though about using it at my bedside, and will order another lamp to benefit from its versitility in the bedroom!!! A wonderfully designed LED lamp that is as diverse as you are!!! You will not be disappointed with the purchase of this product!!!! This lamp will not only satisfy, but most likely will exceed your expectations!! It surely exceeded my preconceived notions!!! FINALLY!I've been looking for a decent desk lamp for almost a year. I was almost about to give up when I found this one.My main concern was a lamp that could be placed behind my monitor but reach over the top to either provide light to the desk, or to myself when on a video conference. Apparently that is a lot to ask from most desk lamps. Maybe it's because I have 32" monitors, But this lamp fits the bill. When the long adjustable arms I'm able to angle it over my monitors to do what I require.Now the instructions are fairly lacking. Like it tells you that there is a sleep function button. But it doesn't tell you how to use it. It changes color when you click it, but again without instructions, you'll have to experiment to figure out how to use it.The lamp itself is fairly versatile and adjustable. You can adjust the spectrum of light to match your preference.You can adjust the brightness to your needs. Overall everything you need a lamp to be, this can do it.

I must be getting old and too stuck in my thinking about a desk lamp can be, but let me tell you that this lamp actually took my breath away!! It’s so beautiful and its function with the multiple intensities of light is nothing short of amazing !! …. Plus, the articulations of the design of the stand reminds me of being in a college lab where the light can illuminate the items right in front of me, or use it as a general desk light with non-obstrusive light that adds ambiance. This by far my favorite light but it created a problem as to what I should do with my two old lamps !!!
