I recently got this NEEWER 77mm true colors ND&CPL filter which has become a valuable addition to my photography gear due to its versatility. The ability to adjust the Neutral Density filter from ND3 through ND64 allows me to select combinations of aperture, exposure time and sensor sensitivity to limit overexposing my pictures. The CPL function is equally useful for reducing reflections and enhancing color saturation, making it practical for various shooting conditions. This filter is well-constructed, with an aluminum frame that feels sturdy and the multi-coated HD optical glass reduces glare and reflection for optimum clarity. Using this filter has significantly improved the quality of my outdoor photography. The variable ND feature is good for managing bright sunlight and achieving smoother motion blur in video. The adjustment mechanism is smooth and precise, allowing me to fine-tune the level of filtration without any noticeable color cast. Additionally, the scratch-resistant coating will keep the filter in excellent condition despite frequent use. This filter is easy to attach and remove, and it provides reliable performance across different lighting conditions. The combination of ND and CPL in one filter simplifies my gear bag while delivering great results. A few examples of this filter use include: blurring water motion, using a wider aperture to stay below the diffraction limit, adding motion blur to subjects, extended time exposures and reducing depth of field in very bright light (e.g. daylight) to name a few. I would recommend this filter for its versatility, quality and price point.

I never knew how much I needed this until I had it...a VND + CPL two in one!! You alternate between adjustments with a screw that somehow works like magic. Tighten and turn to adjust the CPL filter, or loosen it and turn to adjust the neutral density. It moves very smoothly, and the filter is is clear with great threads. It also feels heavy duty as well. Overall, it's a really great piece of glass!

The NEEWER 77mm True Color Variable ND2-ND32 & CPL Filter is a precision filter that combines the functionality of a variable ND and a circular polarizer. The filter frame is made of machined aluminum and is quite thick. Neewer states the filter is made of HD optical glass, is multi-coated, and is water and scratch resistant. Since the filter combines a variable ND and a CPL filter, it could reduce the number of filters one has to carry. However, since one is likely to carry a CPL filter for use without a variable ND filter, in reality that is not the case. A feature that is more useful is the locking variable ND filter. It is adjusted by means of a knob that extends from the side of the filter. The number of stops are clearly marked, and there is a clear upper and lower limit to the adjustment. To lock the filter in a certain position, one only has to tighten the adjustment knob--then the filter will stay in whatever position it is set between 1 and 5 stops. I really like this feature because with most variable filters, it is very easy to inadvertently change the setting.As nice as the locking feature is, it comes with a tradeoff. Because of the extended adjustment knob, the filter cannot be used with a lens hood. Because of that, I had no hesitation getting the filter in 77mm for a 72mm lens since I would not be able to use a lens hood no matter what size I got. I tried the filter on some sunset shots over a lake where I am staying and was quite impressed. The effect of using the ND filter is quite apparent when viewing the lake surface, and the color does not show any noticeable shift. Many other ND filters, especially lower priced ones, have quite noticeable color shift. I also do not notice any other visual anomalies in the photos I shot.The NEEWER 77mm True Color Variable ND2-ND32 & CPL Filter is a very nice variable ND filter with a range of 1 to 5 stops. The locking feature sets it apart from most other variable ND filters, and with that feature included it is reasonably priced for a clearly high quality filter. The included CPL function is useful but not a major selling point for me because I will still have to carry a separate CPL filter. Based on the quality, function and price, this is a five star filter, and I recommend it.
