Description

Enhanced UI and TTL/M Mode Switch- This speedlight has an upgraded UI and a TCM key that switches from TTL to M mode in a second. It features automatic metering, 1/1-1/256 manual dimming, 28-105mm focal length, stroboscopic flashes, 1/8000s HSS, front/rear curtain sync, FEC/FEB/FEL (flash exposure compensation/bracketing/locking), S1/S2 optical slave modes, and other functions
Great Performance & Modeling Lamps- 76Ws max output, 5600K stable color temperature, and a circular Fresnel flash head ensure even, soft, and natural light effects. The flash head with 0-330° swivel and -7-120° tilt bounces flashes freely. Two upgraded 2W 3300K LED modeling lamps (one below the flash head) offer 10 brightness levels (01-10)
Built in 2.4G Wireless Q System- The flash offers four wireless control groups (A/B/C/D), 32 channels (1-32), and 99 IDs (1-99) for use with QPRO-C TTL transmitters (not included). It also functions as a master/slave unit for other Q system flashes within 328'/100m (no obstacles)
High Capacity & Fast Recycling- The 7.2V/3000mAh lithium battery provides 600 full power flashes, 1.5s fast recycling time, and a 1/180-1/20000s flash duration. The battery can be fully charged in 2.5 hours with a 5V 2A USB charger (not included).Firmware update is available via the USB Type C port

I've only had the opportunity to use this flash a couple times so far and I'm a bit of a newbie to flash photography outside of the Auto modes, so at least for me there was a fairly steep learning curve that's still on-going. I think the light looks fantastic though and the flash itself is extremely powerful on the higher levels. We didn't run into any issues using the unit with our Nikon zF, it was recognized that it was attached and there weren't any communication errors. There's a lot of features here that can be accessed with the built-in controls that I've played around with, but at least for our last shoot, we ended up using mostly automatic modes. It's a very high quality unit overall and honestly, probably a bit overkill for my level of skill but it does have all of the features professionals would need and I wanted something I could grow into. I've really come to like Neewer products and think they're a great value for everything you get and this speedlite is no exception.

I actually intend for this to work with Neewer’s off board transmitters for other purposes, but I have a friend with a Nikon camera and he said they worked well enough for his camera. They work well as a studio or flood light as well, and I can definitely recommend them for that purpose.

I usually shoot with Nikon speedlights like the SB-800 and SB-600's. I tried one of these figuring it couldn't compare, and I'm so glad I was dead wrong on that!This has plenty of light, maybe more than my speedlights. It also recycles very fast. The best thing is that this comes with a rechargeable battery that lasts a LONG time. I used this at a wedding and I was snapping shots left and right and the battery lasted through that. In fact, the battery lasts so long and recycles so fast that the flash head gets hot if you continuously fire shots like a pro. There are round pop-up magnetic deflectors that you can buy for these too. It also has remote/commander capabilities that aren't limited to Nikon speedlights like my SB-800s.After using this flash, I can say that I'm never going back to my speedlights that eat up AA batteries like an obese girl at a buffet.
