I wasn't able to purchase a gimbal right away, this came in so handy learning steady movements and control handheld. Then obviously it's amazing to be able to just stand there, as its supposed to! Great height reach. Not cheapy feeling. LOVE IT!!Awesome Case too.

Decided to pick up a Monopod for some event/documentary shooting. I was pretty surprised to see that this monopod handled a Sony FX6 rigged out with cage/v-mount and decent size lens and remained stable with the tripod base. Would support it free standing, even extended. For the price point I wasn't expecting that.. would reccomend

Great mono / tripod. Like all Neewer products the quality is top notch. Very well built heavy duty construction that can be adjusted from 24 inches up to 70 inches with very fluid motion. All the cam locks as well as the swivel/ tilt head is smooth, as to be expected. You also geat a carry bag as well as lanyard so you can use the monopod as a trecking pole, smart thinking. Like I said, its Neewer. Enough said. I hope this helps in your decision making.

Neewer never ceases to impress me with their photography and videography accessories. For the asking price, this monopod is really a deal. It's heavy duty but still light enough to carry around easily (even use as a walking stick). The bottom of it also has a mini tripod extension to give extra stability when needed.Height adjustments are easy to do. The pan/tilt head gives remarkably smooth camera pans and tilts when using it for video work. This is really more designed for video over photography due to the head style. However it does the job just find for shooting photos with my Nikon D800, just perhaps a little more bulky than needed vs. a ball-head mountI took this out to do some lower light (just after sunset) shooting where I needed a bit of extra stability for longer shutter speeds but without the hassle of a full tripod. It can get really short when needed, so I was able to sit on the ground and have it in front of me between my legs with the camera at the perfect position. And when the light got really dim, I flipped out the mini tripod and had great stability for longer shutter speeds.But as I said earlier, this is best suited for those shooting video as you get the super smooth pants and tilts with this thing. In my opinion this is just as good as more well known brands that cost double this. Neewer gear is no joke.
