Since I do mostly still photography, I have not used a dolly very much, except for sequential shots that are then post-edited. However, with the arrival of drone and doing more and more video with my Nikon cameras, I looked for a better dolly than my decades-old device. Since I have a lot of Neewer gear, and find it generally high quality at reasonable prices, it was to Neewer I turned for this motorized dolly. And it is sooooo cool!The dolly accepts all my Nikons, including the Z8 and Z9, and is easy to attach and detach without being wobbly. The dolly is easy to use through the app, which I use from my iPhone through BlueTooth (which means you have to be in range, of course, to impact the dolly in real time, but you can step out of range with preprogrammed routes). (Note that you can mount pretty much any video device, not just DSLRs and mirrorless cameras...I use it for my GoPros too!) There's an auto mode, as well as a manual mode, so you can use the dolly ad-hoc, or rely on a preprogrammed pattern for shots. I use a combination of straight and curved preprogrammed paths for most of my video shots, and found they work really well for time-lapse still shots, too, with nary a wobble in the image stabilization (depending on the surface and what's under the dolly, of course). The dolly is very quiet in operation, and can actually move at a decent speed to add variations to your shots and videos. I found I was comfortable with the dolly after an hour or so playing around with it, and now use it to create new types of images (for me) regularly. Considering the price of the dolly, this is one of the better additions to my photography/videography toolset in many a year! Fun to use, too!

I’ve owned their second version and although it did work considerably well, it wasn’t as smooth and strong as this one is.My main setup for product photography is my Canon R10 combined with an EF/RF adapter + Smallrig Cage + Canon 100mm Macro lens which all together adds some weight, so i needed something a bit stronger that could handle the payload.To my surprise this dolly has enough strength to hold it all together and work smoothly, making my life so much easier than having to use an enormous rail.It’s relatively affordable considering how expensive other models can be, and being from Neewer you know that you’ll be getting your money’s worth!
