Macro photography usually requires an aperture that lets in less light because the more light a lens lets in, the smaller the focus area is. So, having extra light is almost always a necessity. I like the versatility of this light. It gives you multiple options to light a scene. It includes a spike to set it into the ground and give you a mounting point given that a lot of macro photography is of smaller things near the ground. The adjustable neck on the flash also give you lots of mounting options because it can wrap around different objects and still be stable due to the texture of it allowing it to grab onto many surfaces. There's also a clip that allows more mounting options. It also has inserts that project designs. The light is bright enough for a macro scene. The projections are good for videos or long shutter photography. In a darker room, it projects well. In a lit room, it's not overpowering enough as you move away from the projection surface. I've also been using it aside from photography and videography to search for things in tight spaces. It's been very reliable and helpful in many ways.

What I like about this light:1) It is very sturdy. This is not a flimsy light. You feel it immediately when you hold it in your hand.2) It is easy to handle. You can adjust the direction and position of the lighting to your needs. Whatever position you put it in, it stays there. No shaking or wobbling. Very stable.3) There are many light colors you can choose from, and do it easily. It comes with many accessories. It is flexible to suit your photography needs.4) The light is well-made, reliable, and great value for the money.

Macro photography has been an interest for some time. This set from Neewer is the one to begin experimenting with the possibilities of macro photography. The light is bright. It is bright enough to be a flashlight or a fill light on constant light set. The snake head neck and the attachments makes it very versatile. Whether you are going to use a focused beam or change the colors of your set. It comes with gobos, but that makes me wonder if you can make your own because these are made out of steel, kind of like a razor blade type of material and I don't know what is going to give you those crisp edges if you were to use something like plastic. It is very well made, charging with USB-C and the box is perfectly cut out to leave everything in there and use it when you need it.

Nice light, sturdy and very useful for shooting macro. Quality is very good.

The Neewer ML01 Flexible Light is decent. Gives you some unique look especially with the filters. But, keep in mind, this is NOT meant for day time or outdoors it simply isn’t bright enough. It has 5 levels of brightness, but personally I wish it was brighter. The use cases are minimal, and again it can basically only be used in dark environments. You get 10 filters that get put in a holder and a projector. Features 7 colors iirc. Feels good, solid and durable.

Really nice light for macro photo and close content. The lighting options are great it gets surprisingly bright and the adjustable colors make it fun to experiment with. The flexible mounting setup is also handy for getting light exactly where you want it. My only complaint is that it’s heavier than I expected especially once everything is attached, so it can feel bulky an awkward during longer use or setup adjustments. Overall though, it works well and feels like a solid value for the features you get. Battery life is great and its a pretty versatile tool.
