NEEWER TS05 62.9" All Metal Phone Tripod with Remote

This is by far the sturdiest single-post “tripod” that I’ve ever used. Construction is primarily aluminum with some plastic components (including the leg braces and phone holder attachment). The tripod can hold my large S23 Ultra steady at maximum telescope and in any angle provided the feet are fully extended. Some photos show the stand with an S21+ phone.Some measurements:- Stored dimensions: 17.75” long (with phone adapter installed) x 1.75” diameter (max width 2.25” at the knob)- Approx. “radius” of tripod base extended: 11”- Maximum height: 63.75” between surface the tripod is sitting on and the lowest portion of the phone; fully retracted as little as 16”To extend the unit, hold the stand by the fixed section, keep pulling until the tripod extends. The legs can be opened up before or after; you can tighten the ring to keep the legs firmly planted.This is really compact and easy to set up, making it handy to set aside for quick access for family photos (see Halloween photo after we finished carving Jack-O-Lanterns)The included remote pairs easily with my Samsung S23Ultra allowing for easy group photos and clips to the leg for storage.I’m very impressed with the flexibility and stability of this tripod – it has become the only tripod I use, thanks largely to the small footprint and easy/speed of set up.

The mount is spring-loaded with great tension, so your phone is locked in securely.Despite being made of metal, the tripod is shockingly light. It’s incredibly stable, and switching from selfie stick mode to full tripod mode takes just seconds. Neewer really nails it when it comes to giving enthusiasts high-quality gear without breaking the bank. The price-to-quality ratio is insane—I’ve paid more for tripods that were practically unusable. When I ordered this tripod, I expected something small, compact, and similar to a selfie-stick type tripod that you might set up on your desk to film makeup tutorials or something like that. But when I unpacked it, I was surprised at how large it is. This is more like a full-sized tripod that's been compressed into a small form factor to allow for easier transportation. I've been using it here and there for a few days and am pretty impressed with it.One of the drawbacks to the smaller tripods is that they don't always extend to the length that you want them to. You have to set them op on a desk or table or something to get the camera to be at eye level. But this tripod extends quite high, and it can easily get a camera to eye level for a persona of average height.The base is also very wide, and so I would feel comfortable putting a larger and heavier camera on it and not worry about it toppling over even when it's fully extended.This is a really great tripod for a specific need. If you need something that's long and stable that you can set up on the ground, but don't want to carry around a full-sized tripod, this is an excellent solution. And for the price, it's incredible value. I'm very impressed.

The main shaft, the locking screw, and the 3 legs are made of metal while many competitors use plastic legs. The tripod is 63” in height and is more stable than competitors. However, it should be expected that this kind of compact design cannot match the stability of a regular camera tripod. However, I find it has struck a balance between portability and stability. I quite like it.Due to the weight-bearing requirement, the telescopic shaft is quite stiff and a little difficult to pull out. There are no locking screws on the shaft and it relies solely on friction to support the camera payload. However, an average adult should be able to handle it. This tripod may not be for you if you find yourself having to change its height or collapse it often. If you need to pan your phone or camera often, you may want to consider other options as it is difficult to pan smoothly with this tripod.The ball head, while not made of metal, is quite sturdy and smooth. The 2 locking screws are easy to turn and lock. You can feel the quality. The phone clip, unfortunately, is the weakest part of the kit. It is plastic and can only open up 2cm. The remote control is custom-made by Neewer and can be clicked into a matching slot on one of the legs. This kind of custom design has given the tripod a quality feel which I like.Overall, this is a great portable tripod if you know its limitations. While it cannot replace a standard tripod for stability, it strikes a balance between portability and stability. I like it and it will find many uses.
