I’ve used a few portable lights and flashes and this feels like a nice middle ground between a regular speedlight and a bigger studio strobe. It’s compact enough to take around without feeling like a hassle, but it still has a good amount of power behind it. For indoor portraits, product shots, and smaller creative setups, the output is strong and consistent. The light looks clean and neutral to my eye, and the built-in modeling light is helpful when you want to see where your shadows are landing before taking the shot. The build feels solid overall, and I like that it comes with a carrying bag, battery, charger cable, diffuser, and mounting handle. The battery slides in easily, and the recycle time is quick, especially when you’re not firing at full power every shot. The app control is also a nice bonus once you get it connected, since it saves you from constantly walking over to the light to adjust settings. It’s very convenient if you have it up on a stand or positioned across the room. The only thing to keep in mind is that you’ll need a compatible trigger if you want to get the most out of features like TTL and HSS, since that is not included. The menu is usable, but it takes a little playing around before it feels fully intuitive. Overall though, I’m impressed with it. It’s portable, powerful for its size, and very useful for portraits, product photography, and outdoor shoots where you want more control than a basic flash can give.

I’m new to flash photography and after doing some research I was decided on saving up for a Godox AD100 Pro II. But then out of no where this gem shined and popped into view. Did some quick research and decided to buy it right then and there. Coming from corded torjim continuous lights. This thing is AWESOME. Very bright! I was thinking needing to save up for a 300w light but no, you’re getting one heck of a bang for your buck with this one. For the price the value is practically unbeatable. It’s very compact too since setup is very quick. Will post photos of the use when I get to use it.

The flash DOES support Godox X remote. The unit I receive does not have the latest firmware so I have to manually update it to get the Godox X function. The firmware would require you to download an app as well as the firmware file. The app doesn't work on my mac but the Windows version works. The installer for windows is zip by rar tho. After the update, change the "RX COMPAT" to "ON" then you can set the channel and group as usual. After that you can use your trigger to change the power of the flash...etc. The firmware update does not currently support Mac with OS 26.3.1.

A very reliable brand for photography. Very easy to use and backwards compatible to Godox trigger as well. It comes with a diffuser and is magnetic. It is easy to get it on and off. The battery is universal to a lot of other Neewer flashes.

The Neewer Q120 is a fantastic photography strobe that packs 120 watt-seconds of power; positioning it as a direct and more powerful competitor to the Godox AD100Pro. The battery is a unique 3000mAh rechargeable unit that offers a lot of flexibility; especially since you can charge it directly within the flash using the provided USB-C cable. This eliminates the need for a separate external charger; which is a very convenient touch for keeping your gear kit compact. The quality of the product is excellent and durable; and it comes in a nice cohesive carrying case that includes several useful accessories. You get an angle-changing light stand head for mounting the unit and a custom magnetic diffusion dome that pops off easily to help adjust and soften the light. The user interface on the back is very simple to understand; and it reminds me entirely of the Godox AD100Pro setup. While the Q120 is slightly larger and heavier than its Godox counterpart; it provides more power for its size.It is important to keep in mind that the unit is not waterproof or weatherproof; as the cooling vents are wide open and leave the internal electronics exposed. However; the overall build feels professional and the power output is impressive for such a portable unit. It is a great choice for photographers who want more wattage and the convenience of USB-C charging in a reliable; well-made package that is ready for on-the-go shoots.

I’ve been using this strobe for both indoor setups and outdoor shoots, and it honestly feels like one of those tools that instantly levels up your lighting game. The size is what caught my attention first—it’s compact and easy to carry, but once you start using it, you realize it delivers way more power than you’d expect from something this portable. The 120Ws output is more than enough for most photography situations. I’ve used it for portraits, product shots, and even some outdoor sessions, and it handles everything really well. The light is consistent and clean, and it gives you enough flexibility to shape your shots without constantly pushing it to its limits. The color temperature also stays stable, which is important when you’re trying to maintain a professional look across multiple shots. One of the biggest advantages is the high-speed sync. Being able to shoot at faster shutter speeds outdoors without blowing out your highlights makes a huge difference. It opens up a lot of creative control, especially when you're working in bright daylight. The built-in modeling light is also helpful—it gives you a quick preview of how your lighting will fall before you actually take the shot.Battery performance has been solid. It lasts through long sessions without feeling like you’re constantly watching the battery level, and the recycle time stays fast even when you’re shooting repeatedly. That reliability is exactly what you want when you’re working on a tight schedule or shooting events.I also appreciate how easy it is to integrate into a wireless setup. Pairing it with compatible triggers is simple, and once it’s connected, everything just works smoothly. Adjusting settings remotely saves time and keeps your workflow efficient, especially when you’re managing multiple lights.Overall, this feels like a great balance between portability and performance. It’s powerful enough for serious work but still compact enough to take anywhere. If you’re looking for a dependable strobe that can handle both studio and outdoor shooting without being bulky, this is a really strong option.

This is my first strobe light. Bring it is my fist I have had troubles figuring out the buttons and settings but now that I have that sorted out, it works well. The handle on to is great for hand holding too when not in a studio.
