NEEWER 13ft/400cm Air Cushioned Light Stand

I’ve been using the NEEWER 13ft/400cm Air Cushioned Light Stand for photography and it has been a great addition to my setup. It reaches a very useful height while still feeling stable and sturdy.

The air-cushioned design is especially helpful when lowering the stand, as it makes the movement much smoother and safer for the equipment. The locking mechanisms feel secure, and the overall build quality is impressive for the price.

I mainly use it for lighting during portrait, maternity, newborn, and event photography, and the extra height gives me a lot more flexibility with light placement.

Overall, a very reliable light stand with excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to photographers looking for a tall, sturdy, and easy-to-use stand.

The stability of the stand plays a key role in the stability and safety required for the off camera flashes. If the stand is not stable and sturdy, it may topple causing accidents and damages.Fortunately, this light stand offers a stable option to use the off camera flashes and strobes. It can be extended to 13 feet which makes it a good option of mounting a video camera to cover sports or other outdoor events from a height for a better view.It gets folded, which makes it easy to carry outdoors. It can be a good photography accessory for the off camera flashes. With additional weight through sandbags, it can give immensely stable option to mount the flashes safely.

Verdict: 5⭐*** The good 👍✅ Overall Quality: In my video, you can see me and hear me tap different parts of the surface, and it is clear, the whole stand (aside from the thumb screw) is only made from metal.✅ Stability: The stand remains stable even fully deployed (as you can see in the night outside pictures). I would obviously use weights if I were to extend to more than 2 metres in real-life use.✅ Attention to detail: The screw head design is excellent as it allows many different positions and different types of connections.*** Comments🌐 There is one element that needs to be outlined about the pneumatic cushion. I'm used to packing quickly and if you are like me, you know the gesture I make when I unlock the tightening clips where there's a quick push-up and a stronger pull-down gesture to make the rod retract. Well with the pneumatic effect, I could not do it, and I had to wait for a bit more than 45 seconds before having something that could be packed in my carrying bags. I don't think it is an issue as it effectively protects my precious equipment from impact and breakage.

We recently ordered two lights and diffusers and need an additional light stand to set them up. The NEEWER Air Cushioned Light Stand is a good solution for our photography needs.The center pole has 4 sections that allow you to adjust the height. They are easy adjusted using the T-screws. The head has a reversible screw in two different sizes - 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch.The wide base offers more stability than our other stands, and the air cushioned pole prevents damage to my equipment from accidental falls.This is a good mid-level light stand.

At 13 ft this light stand is tall .... so it is hard to imagine that it will be stable but Neewer has done a lot of things to make this possible. The first thing is that it has big legs; second, there are locking knobs at the top and the bottom of the tripod leg assembly so that you can eliminate any movement at either end (while allowing the assembly to pack tighter too). Then, all of the hardware is metal and the tolerances are small, giving a more stable adjustment. Last, the way the knobs apply pressure to the pipe is really interesting as it has a small aluminum pad that increases the surface area where the pressure is applied by the screw - as a whole this fastening strategy significantly reduces movement across the different sections. I have a number of other light, medium and heavy duty light stands and I was really impressed by the quality of this unit.
