Neewer Flexible Mini Tripod Review.This mini-tripod is ideal for capturing creative photos and videos from unique perspectives. It accepts smartphones, action cameras, DSLRs, and mirrorless cameras, making this tripod a must-have for the camera bag. Larger lenses on DSLR or mirrorless cameras can make the tripod/camera combination top-heavy. However, spreading the tripod’s three legs can compensate for the top-heavy load. I tested this with a couple of cameras (DSLR and mirrorless).The tripod’s construction is robust. It has some heft but is not overly heavy and could easily be stored in a camera bag or backpack. Bending the legs of the tripod takes a bit of effort, but you can come up with a myriad of different leg positions. The legs are so flexible that they can wrap around a small-diameter tree branch or be hung from a railing.The rubberized legs provide a superior grip, particularly when getting creative and hanging expensive items like smartphones and cameras. The legs also offer a comfortable grip when using the tripod as a handle for recording/vlogging while walking. Tiny rubber feet at the bottom of each leg help keep the tripod from sliding on smooth surfaces.I have used this tripod on and off for two weeks with an iPhone, mirrorless and action cameras, with no sign of noticeable wear. I experimented with many different tripod leg settings. Once the legs have been bent from their factory-original shape, getting them back perfectly straight is a slight challenge. As for durability, this tripod is solidly built!The ball head assembly is both unique and versatile! It can hold cameras and smartphones, and there are also two cold shoe mounts on either side of the phone holder for adding accessories like lighting or external microphones. The tripod also has a female 1/4-20 threaded option for adding additional accessories.There is a circular rubber pad where the 1/4-20 threaded screw meets the base of the camera. The screw can be pushed down and remains flush when a smartphone is installed into the holder. The smartphone holder’s arms fold out, incorporating a spring-loaded mechanism that securely holds smartphones. The holder’s arms fold perfectly flush to mount a DSLR or mirrorless camera.The included Bluetooth remote shutter control paired almost instantly with my iPhone. It allows one to take shake-free group shots, videos, or selfies. The bright orange remote control makes it easy to find amongst camera gear. The CR2032 battery that powers the remote control is widely available and easily replaced.The only thing that needs to be added to this tripod is a bubble/spirit level. Then again, this tripod is designed for creative photos and videos where levelling the camera might be less critical.Overall, I have no complaints. Recommended!
