We recently ordered two lights and diffusers and need an additional light stand to set them up. The NEEWER Air Cushioned Light Stand is a good solution for our photography needs.The center pole has 4 sections that allow you to adjust the height. They are easy adjusted using the T-screws. The head has a reversible screw in two different sizes - 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch.The wide base offers more stability than our other stands, and the air cushioned pole prevents damage to my equipment from accidental falls.This is a good mid-level light stand.

At 13 ft this light stand is tall .... so it is hard to imagine that it will be stable but Neewer has done a lot of things to make this possible. The first thing is that it has big legs; second, there are locking knobs at the top and the bottom of the tripod leg assembly so that you can eliminate any movement at either end (while allowing the assembly to pack tighter too). Then, all of the hardware is metal and the tolerances are small, giving a more stable adjustment. Last, the way the knobs apply pressure to the pipe is really interesting as it has a small aluminum pad that increases the surface area where the pressure is applied by the screw - as a whole this fastening strategy significantly reduces movement across the different sections. I have a number of other light, medium and heavy duty light stands and I was really impressed by the quality of this unit.
