I use this for my Amaran 200x s and it it holds the weight perfectly, even with attachments. Solid and sturdy, although slightly expensive in comparison to other light stands. Overall, very happy with purchase.

The tripod arrived safely, and it comes packed inside a plain cardboard box.The overall quality of the tripod is excellent, and it seems very well made. The poles are made from metal and the plastics used feel strong and durable. When fully set up the tripod feels very planted and sturdy. If properly looked after this tripod should last for a long time.It’s very easy to setup and adjust, you can get the height exactly how you want it and the tripod has excellent lateral and vertical load capacity’s. Thanks to the air cushion none of the poles will rapidly drop if you loosen the knobs too much, instead they just slowly move down.The adapter is reversible with 1/4” on the one side and 3/8” on the other. It can be inserted vertically or horizontally depending on your needs and it securely locks into place when you tighten the holding knob.The tripod goes to a very tall height of 3m and its perfect if you need to place lights up high for photography or video shooting purposes. Sadly, it doesn’t feature a built-in spirit level but its not a big deal if your just using it for mounting lights to.Overall, I think this is a well-made, decent quality tripod which represents good value for money and its ideal for a studio environment. An included carry case would have been nice but apart from that I can’t find any reason why I wouldn’t recommend this item, I’m happy to award it the full five stars, buy with confidence!

The Tripod is fairly stable and extends fairly tall. I tested the Air cushion but putting a LED Video Panel that probably weighs about 7 or 8 lbs with the top section extended. I think let it drop and fell for about that first half and then the air cushion kicked in and it went down slowly the rest of the way. The top section was the least resistant of all the sections. the others you have to push on to collapse if there is no weight on them.I also like how you can mount a light from the side instead of just on top.The joints are plastic but that is expected at this price point. This should be a good studio light stand for most especially if you are on a budget.

If you’ve ever needed any photographic accessories, particularly lighting, and searched for them on Amazon, the chances are you’ve had some results back from Neewer.Having previously needed an off camera lighting set, I purchased a Neewer set consisting of a couple lighting stands and umbrellas. That did fine to start with but there came a point where the maximum height of the stands, which tops out at about 2m, started to be a limitation. So when I got the chance to review this stand I had to take a look.This stand can reach 3m high by itself, before adding on any equipment, enough to wedge it against the ceiling of my lounge. Unlike the two stands that came with the kit, this stand does feel substantial in the hand, although you’ll still want to think about whether you need to weigh it down with sandbags if you’re putting a heavier load high up or if you’re using it outdoors in a spot subject to breeze.The stand has a built in air cushion to ensure the column collapses slowly when the restraining knobs are released to stop your equipment being subjected to potentially damaging jolts. Another key feature is the reversible spigot that has a ¼” thread on one end an a ⅜” thread on the other. This can be locked in vertically on top of the stand or sideways, if you need to mount something horizontally. Mounting vertically the load bearing is rated as 10kg whereas horizontally it is halved to 5kg.This stand is a definite step up from those you find in the cheaper kits, although if you’re sure you don’t need the extension up to 3m you could perhaps save yourself some money.For me, as the complexity of my lighting setup increases, this stand gives me more flexibility for controlling the light of the environment I’m shooting in and allows me to improve the end results.
